On Monday, April 20, 2026, Captain James “Jim” Mason was laid to rest. We at Station 29 would like to extend our deepest thanks to Station 25 Blooming Grove for providing coverage during the service as well as traffic control, Station 26 Dingmans for the draping of the flag on their ladder truck, Hemlock Farms Public Safety for assisting with traffic control and acting as the lead vehicle in the funeral procession through the community to pass by James Mason’s home and the fire station, Pennsylvania State Police for assisting with traffic control during the funeral procession, Milford Police for assisting with traffic control, and the Station 29 Auxiliary for all their work on setting up and cooking for the repast.

Please keep the family in your prayers as they grieve.

Would like to extend congratulations to our very own Junior Firefighter Ezra DeFoor on completing his Live Burn session with the Emergency Service Program at Wallenpaupack High School. It is with great sorrow, that we are announcing the unfortunate passing of Captain Jim Mason. He was dedicated to our department for over 15 years. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Today at approximately 1215 hours, 29 Engine along with our first alarm assignment was dispatched to Blue Heron Community (Porter Twp) for a reported structure fire. 29 Ambulance 1 arrived on scene and reported active fire with a propane close to the house. While en-route 29-2 requested a second alarm. 29 Engine arrived on scene and started initial fire attack, and got the bulk of the fire knocked down. Several crews operated on overhaul, salvage and ventilation. Crews operated for approximately 3 hours. We want to thank our mutual aid department for helping us today!
