"My doctor stopped my physical therapy because he said I wasn't 'improving' anymore." STOP. If you hear this, you are likely being lied to. This is the biggest myth in Medicare.

It’s called the Jimmo v. Sebelius Settlement. Medicare cannot require you to "improve" to cover your therapy. They MUST cover it if the therapy is needed to simply maintain your condition or prevent you from getting worse.

So if you have Parkinson's, MS, or are recovering from a stroke, and they try to cut you off because you "plateaued"—tell them to check the Jimmo rules. You have the right to maintenance care.

🚨 CA MEDICARE ALERT. I just read the new 2026 press release from Health Net and Wellcare, and you need to see what's between the lines.

First, they are making a massive push for D-SNPs. That’s for Californians who have both Medicare and Medi-Cal. They are "seamlessly transitioning" members, which is code for "automatic enrollment." If you're a dual-eligible, you must check that this new plan still covers your doctors.

Second, that "Wellcare Spendables" card with the extra money? They're changing the rules. They admit that extra benefits like groceries, gas, and utilities will now only be available to members with specific chronic health conditions. This is a huge cut for many healthy seniors who were using that benefit.

They're pushing "value-conscious" plans. That's a corporate buzzword for "small network" or "high co-pays."
