A lower trapezius tendon transfer is among the most complex shoulder surgeries, involving the relocation of a back muscle that governs scapular movement to assume the function of the infraspinatus, a key rotator cuff muscle.
This procedure, though uncommon, is indicated for chronic, irreparable tears of the infraspinatus.
To facilitate recovery, we utilize the Neubie, a direct current neuromuscular electrical stimulation device, to retrain the transferred muscle and restore shoulder function.

Last weekend, we joined Taos Orthopedic Team in a cadaver lab, performing gimmick shoulder and knee surgeries, to refresh our knowledge and understanding of anatomy, learn about latest surgical procedures, and foster invaluable relationships. Having a good team with trust and communication between the physician, physical therapist, and patient is crucial to patient outcomes. Your surgery becomes our project, so we are constantly staying up to date on the latest innovations and surgery procedures to ensure you receive the best post-op care.

Whether you’re roasting some green Chile or burning your quads mountain biking, we get the appeal of a little spice.
