A lower trapezius tendon transfer is among the most complex shoulder surgeries, involving the relocation of a back muscle that governs scapular movement to assume the function of the infraspinatus, a key rotator cuff muscle.
This procedure, though uncommon, is indicated for chronic, irreparable tears of the infraspinatus.
To facilitate recovery, we utilize the Neubie, a direct current neuromuscular electrical stimulation device, to retrain the transferred muscle and restore shoulder function.
