Are we for real?

True nutrition for the average person is NOT complicated, but diet culture and corporations make it so.

They prey on your insecurities and want you to BUY their products. Food trends come and go or change shape.

This can unfortunately fuel eating disorders and disordered eating and make you feel like you need to do what you see influencers doing.

This is your reminder to eat for your body, trust yourself, and not feel pressured into a trend that doesn’t feel right to you. 🫶🏻

I use Naked Whey ISO when life is busy, not to replace meals or control hunger.

ISO = whey isolate, meaning it’s more filtered, easier to digest, and just the protein without the extra additives. 👏🏻

The first thing I look for when choosing a supplement is if it’s third-party tested and checks that box.

One is thinking about enjoying time with their friend, enjoying the food, and what they want to do next.

The other is calculating calories, bargaining, spiraling, and shrinking. 🌀

This is what eating disorders and disordered eating can look like. They’re not always dramatic or visible. They’re fighting a silent battle. 😔

Diet culture teaches us that obsessive food thoughts are “discipline, ” that guilt after eating is “normal,” that shrinking yourself is success. It is NOT.

If you’re struggling with an eating disorder, ED recovery, or disordered eating, you are not dramatic, you are not broken, and you are definitely not alone. 🙂‍↔️

Recovery and food freedom is possible!

I’m tired of diet culture pretending there’s one simple fix.

It’s not always fewer carbs, it’s not always a supplement, someone else’s “what I eat in a day” isn’t a blueprint for your body.

Nutrition isn’t one-size-fits-all. Sustainable nutrition is built on habits, balance, and what actually works for YOU, not trends and products.

One food won’t ruin you, PLEASE don’t cut entire food groups, and you definitely don’t need internet fear to guide your choices.

If you want to improve your eating habits for any reason, speak to a dietitian, not an influencer. I have my masters degree in nutrition and dietetics and this fear mongering drives me CRAZY. 🎓

Real nutrition is about overall patterns, balance, and enough food, not extremes.

It’s about adding foods in, more color, more fiber, more variety, and more JOY. ☀️

Mediterranean style eating, eating the rainbow, and balanced plates all have one thing in common, nothing is off limits. I always tell my clients, “there is nothing I will tell you you CAN’T eat.”

Health and lifestyle improves when food feels abundant, not restrictive.

You need fewer rules, less comparison, and less fear. You need more trust in your body and not hearing all the ways you might be eating “wrong.”

Diet culture thrives on confusion and wants you to fail so you keep buying their products, real nutrition doesn’t.

You don’t need extreme calorie restriction, gluten fear, or hydration hacks to be healthy.

Most people don’t need more products, they need enough food. 🫶🏻

Creating a food positive home starts with you.

Your children (and your inner child) aren’t just listening to what you say about their food, they’re absorbing what you say about your body, your hunger, and your plate.

If you want them to eat without shame, trust their body, and stop when they’re full you have to practice that first. 🩷
