In observance of Veterans Day, WIC will be closed on Tuesday, November 11. We will resume WIC services on Wednesday, November 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 🇺🇸

We are proud to support our Veteran families and staff, and we thank you for your service.

Welcome, Congresswoman Friedman, to our Van Ness WIC office!

We love when our elected officials can see WIC in action and understand the lasting impact it has on families.

During her visit, our team highlighted the Modern WIC Act and its role in updating WIC services to better meet the needs of today’s families by improving access, convenience, and participation.

We also shared how WIC has remained fully operational during the government shutdown, ensuring families receive the support they need virtually and in person.

Reminder:
Furloughed federal workers who are pregnant, postpartum, or have children under 5 can connect with WIC services. Families receiving CalFresh with young children are also eligible for WIC.

Thank you, Congresswoman Friedman, for your support and for listening to the stories that showcase WIC’s essential role in our community. Together, we’ll continue to strengthen WIC so every eligible family can access the nutrition and resources they deserve.

California WIC is open!

1️⃣ Keep using your WIC benefits.
2️⃣ Attend your WIC appointments.
3️⃣ Stay in contact with your local WIC office.

🍒WIC and CalFresh are separate programs. Each program is funded and managed separately. CalFresh benefits delays do not affect WIC benefits or services. Both programs support food access for families.

While CalFresh/SNAP benefits are experiencing a lapse across the country, California WIC is fully operational, funded through at least the end of December.

Key points to know:
- WIC and CalFresh are SEPARATE programs with different funding.
- If you’re pregnant or have kids under 5, you can get BOTH CalFresh and WIC.
- If you’re already on WIC, keep using your card as usual.
- Have CalFresh but not WIC? NOW is the time to apply!

WIC + SNAP work better together to keep your family healthy.

Eating a variety of foods gives your baby the best possible start and helps you feel your best.

Many people who are pregnant think they need to eat a lot more food because they are eating for two. This is not true! Simply include a variety of foods in your diet, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, protein, and dairy.
