When this husband and father had a stroke, the focus quickly shifted to one goal:
bringing him home safely.
But the home had its own challenge waiting.
The only bathing space downstairs was tight —
too tight for proper positioning, too tight for caregiver assistance, and not designed for safe transfers.
For families, this is where things get overwhelming.
For clinicians, this is where risk increases.
Because without space, even the best techniques become difficult to carry out safely.
So instead of forcing the space to work…
we changed the approach.
This is where the ShowerBuddy system by made all the difference.
Transfers can now happen outside the bathroom, where there’s room for proper setup, body mechanics, and caregiver support — safer for him, and safer for those helping him.
From there, the rolling shower/commode chair connects seamlessly to a bridge system, allowing him to slide into the tub without another transfer.
One controlled movement.
No unnecessary risk.
No breakdown in technique.
Even in a tight space, the right system can restore flow, safety, and confidence.
A big part of making this work was collaboration —
Israel Gamburg helped us ensure the system would fit and provided ongoing support to guide this family forward.
Because this isn’t just about equipment fitting into a bathroom.
It’s about care plans translating into real life — where families feel capable again, and patients feel supported every step of the way.
If a home setup is limiting safety, confidence, or progress, we help bridge the gap between clinical need and real-world function.
