This isn't one of those 'rah-rah, go-get-'em!' posts where I'm shouting, "Hey, it's the second day of 2024, so you better hustle through your push-up challenge, go full throttle with that whole 30, ditch caffeine, launch your passion project, Marie Kondo your closets, and Marie Curie your computer, all before the day's over!" We've seen more than our fair share of those over the past few days.

No, this is me sending you a virtual hug to wish you a Happy New Year.

Wherever you find yourself today and however you're feeling in this very moment, remember, you're right on track.

I'm proud of you.

Some years, the arrival of the New Year ignites a fire within me, and I ride that wave like a pro, accomplishing heaps and feeling like a rockstar. Other years, well, let's just say it's more of a slow burn.

In those 'slow burn' years, I've discovered that the best thing is to honor myself and how I feel in the now, and move toward authenticity from that place without hesitation.

I've learned that when I tend to my mind, body, and heart and give them the rest they so desperately need, I can tap into the deepest, quietest part of myself. It's the part that doesn't spin itself dizzy with thoughts of not doing enough, not being enough, or not measuring up.

When I close my eyes to meditate, I reconnect with my true self, who is already whole, completely at ease, and finds happiness as the baseline. I remind myself that my Beingness is more than complete already, regardless of the date on the calendar or the items I've checked off my to-do list.

The beginning is always today. The beginning is always in the now.

Wishing you a Happy New Year filled with pure easy and joy. Join me in taking it easy this week and see what unfolds naturally for you, will you?

Sending all my love,
Susan ❤️

6 WAYS TO FEEL MORE GROUNDED

I'm so excited to share an interview I recently had with the amazing and on my personal routine to feel well and keep grounded day-to-day.

Of course, Vedic Meditation is on the top of the list, and all the other practices come from the beautiful knowledge I've received from continued learning with my Vaidyas and Ayurveda teachers .

When we live active, high impact lives, it’s natural to put your high value energy towards the important projects, your work, and loved ones, often at the expense of our own rest and nourishment.

Since we’re the capable ones, we think it’s obvious - and the right thing to do - that the flow of intelligence and attention goes from our self to the outside world.

And the world loves it - everyone benefits from your work, your enthusiasm, all of it. And they’ll take as much of it as you’re willing to give.

There’s no blameworthiness in this - others around us are rarely perceptive enough to detect the fatigue, the drain, the crash that can sometimes come over us when we’re always in activity. All they see if our radiance and effectiveness out in the world.

So, it’s up to us to prioritize our own nourishment, and seek that nourishment from our support system when we’re looking for that extra boost to fill our own cup.

In my view, we should be doing things everyday to prioritize our rest and align with how we want to live authentically.

For me, it’s:
✨Twice daily Vedic Meditations
✨Giving myself the first two hours of the day for personal creative endeavors
✨Setting standards on when I take meetings (and sticking to them)

The greatest reward in remembering to prioritize ourselves is that everyone wins - we avoid burnout and meet with world as the most rested, creative, adaptable version of ourselves. We build the endurance to be changemakers for the long haul, and that’s a good thing ♥️

What is one thing you can do today to prioritize you?

Friends! I'm so excited to share that my interview with  and  on how to stay fresh and energized during this spring travel season!

In this article, I share tips on what I call “flying meditation” - a combination of meditation, hydration, and light fasting - to help ease the fatigue and anxiety that can oftentimes come with long travel days.

Thank you, Alexandria Brooks, for allowing me to share my Vedic Meditation and Ayurveda-inspired techniques with the world!

Many of you know that I love nerding out on productivity and how to be efficient with my time.

Perhaps it was the years of feeling overworked and all the accumulated stresses that came with it...but I am now always looking for ways to do less and accomplish more.

This year, my approach is feeling different. Softer. More embodied and adaptable. I've been feeling into the new year and new season of life and living in flow.

What's working?
What's feeling GOOD on all levels?
What feels off on ANY level?

You don't need to feel pressured by resolutions, habits, what your friend or co-worker are up to.

Instead, take it one day at a time, one moment at a time, one thing at a time.

As this quote invites us to do, let's focus on adding additional good things to your life without pressure or drama.

If you haven't been regular in your meditation, it might be adding ONE meditation in and seeing how it feels. Then another. Then another.

If you've been curious about meditation, it might be joining me for one of my Introductory Talks.

Wherever you find yourself, I wish for you ease and surrender into the week. The goals and achievements will be there for you. Feel free to find your rhythm, add that one good thing after another, and soon you'll be well on your way to living in total alignment for the rest of the year.

Drop a ❤️ if you're ready to live in FLOW this year!

Out with the resolutions. In with the simple, natural, innocence of present moment awareness and quieting down the mind twice a day.

HAPPY NEW HOUR, HAPPY NEW SECOND, HAPPY NEW MINUTE.

And, of course, Happy New Year!

This is your reminder that you can feel it all, all at the same time.

I remember feeling guilty for laughing at a coworker's joke when I was still grieving the su***de of a friend.

I remember feeling confused when my depression began to fade and I found pockets of joy appear in my day.

I remember feeling super rough but also a sense of healing , on my way through it, all at the same time.

Here's the thing about healing: It's never linear I recognize now that whenever I held myself back from feeling it all, that was when I got stuck in my processing.

When I gave myself the grace of feeling whatever was coming up, whenever it was coming up, the good, the bad, the messy, that’s when things would start to move through.

The more we can normalize the simultaneity of feelings in our lives, the more we’ll let ourselves process trauma easily and evolve gracefully. This is the human experience that we’re so blessed to have. This is the experience of evolution.

Have you allowed yourself to feel the simultaneity of evolution in your life? Let me know in the comments below!

Change can feel hard! I get it and I've been there.

Here's the thing...being the change is so much more evolutionary than waiting for others people or circumstances to change around you!

Playing the waiting game is s a recipe for slow growth and a lot of disappointment.

Change up your routine, change your mindset, change your levels of stress. This all helps.
