Amigas, your brain needs breaks, not just hustle.

Short breaks help your mind refocus, lower stress, boost creativity, and even support memory and learning. Stepping away for a few minutes can actually help you do better when you come back.

Stress is usually tied to a situation.
Once the pressure passes, your body can return to baseline.

Anxiety is different.
It can persist even when there’s no immediate threat—because different brain circuits are involved.

That’s why the way we support each one matters.

Understanding what your brain is experiencing is the first step toward choosing the right tools for care.

Could it be PNES instead of epilepsy?

Some episodes that look like seizures are actually PNES (Psychogenic Nonepileptic Seizures).

They can involve shaking, loss of awareness, or body movements that resemble epileptic seizures — but they are not caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain.

That’s why an accurate neurological evaluation is essential.

🧠 Have you ever heard of PNES before?

Standing improves blood flow to the brain, which supports focus, energy, and mental clarity.

Better circulation can help increase alertness, improve concentration, and support faster information processing throughout the day.

You don’t need an hour.
You don’t need a perfect routine.

Ten consistent minutes of movement or quiet time can begin to change how your brain functions.

Because your nervous system doesn’t need intensity—it needs consistency.

Those small moments—walking, breathing, pausing—add up.
They help regulate stress, improve focus, and support your brain over time.

This is how real change happens.

Start with 10 minutes.

Stroke and cognitive decline rarely start suddenly.
They develop quietly over years, shaped by things like blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol.

As a neurologist, I’m not only thinking about the brain today—
I’m thinking about how your brain will function decades from now.

Protecting your brain health starts long before symptoms appear.

Every once in a while, my clinic looks a little different.
Some of my patients living with brain injuries can’t easily travel to appointments — whether it’s because of dizziness, fatigue, headaches, light sensitivity, or cognitive overload.
So today’s visit happens remotely.
We still talk about symptoms.
We still assess progress.
We still go through memory, focus, sleep, headaches…
Care doesn’t always have to happen in person to be real.

When women tell me they feel unmotivated, I don’t hear laziness.
I hear sleep deprivation, cognitive fatigue, and nervous system overload.
Rest isn’t indulgent—it’s neurologic care.
