Jupiter stations retrograde in Cancer just before 1 pm PDT at 25°. Jupiter rules Sagittarius where Mercury just began his retrograde two days ago. This timing links these two cycles together, and we’re going to feel the need to intellectualize what it means to truly be interconnected within a family unit as a result. We now have five out of 8 planets in retrograde at the same time- Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus.

Jupiter’s retrograde path back to 15° Cancer reactivates the same tender ground where Mars ended his retrograde in February at 17°. From November 2024- May 2025 Mars left Leo and went back into one of his least favorite signs. Mars likes to fight and win wars, hungry for justice and vengeance. Mars prefers to fight FOR home, not AT home. The retrograde from Leo to Cancer exposed “leaders” in the family units for who they really were, and the fallout was ugly for a lot of families. What went down last winter may be coming back up now with more context and clarity. Unlike Mars, Jupiter loves being in Cancer. There’s nothing more joyful than an abundant and happy home. Now he wants to know what we learned from that painful drama. Have we built safer emotional ground since? Are we still trying to crawl back to a place that hasn’t been a safe home for a long time… or trying to force others to crawl back there without change? The hard conversations are coming.

Mercury and Jupiter will continue to collaborate on our collective lessons until March, keeping the feedback loop between mind and heart open and receptive. Mercury first retrogrades in Sagittarius, then the next one begins in Pisces. Both of these signs are ruled by Jupiter. The two overlap their timing again in March. Jupiter stations direct on March 11th, just a week before Mercury ends his retrograde. It’s an elegant exchange between both rulers of the Mutable signs. It’s a philosophical call-and-response between intellect and intuition. Our lips to God’s ears.
