Emely and I came to the vendor fair today to meet with the service coordinators!

We let them know that we are offering the following services to regional center consumers:

*Early start speech therapy and child development assessments and services, funded via RC or Kaiser/Aetna insurance.

*School age speech therapy, including AAC evals and treatment via the Self Determination Program (SDP), and independent educational evaluations (IEEs) for school districts in the area of language and speech.

Exciting news: I've been accepted into the 10,000 Small Businesses program!

As Hola Clinic's President and Clinical Director, I am thrilled to embark on this journey. I can't wait to learn more about financial management and connect with fellow entrepreneurs. Here's to making our small businesses BIG!

Hola Clinic's crew had a send off for today for Ava, one of our child development specialists.

Ava is moving across the country to complete SLP graduate school at University of Pittsburgh. We are so proud of her!

Ava ran our early intervention center based group on Wednesdays in the clinic, provided child-centered in-home services to children under 3 years, and also served as an admin assistant in the clinic on Fridays. She became a behavior technician and used many of the techniques she learned during treatment.

We love you, Ava! Sending you the best of luck in graduate school, and we can't wait for you to become an SLP. 💖

We need to spread the word about what speech pathology is and whom we support.

May is National Speech Language Hearing Month and May 18 is Speech Language Pathology Day. Today we honor the crucial work of SLPs and SLPAs across the globe. Our field is still unknown to many, which makes accessing crucial services even harder for patients, students, clients, and families. Feel free to share slides from this post to help us explain our scope to the public so that we can increase access and awareness about what we do, who we are, and whom we get the opportunity to help.

Go ahead and ask questions in the comments if you have any so that others who might also have questions can see the responses.

It is an honor to be an SLP and to run a program that employs other SLPs and SLPAs who share a mission and vision of expanding culturally and linguistically affirming speech and language services to our communities in LA, California, and the world at large. ✌️

Congratulations to one of our sweet friends who graduated from speech today!

And congratulations to Andrea, Emely, and Carmen, our fabulous team members who helped him meet his goals over the past year and a half. Great work!

California Speech Language Hearing Association 2025 Convention Wrap Up

I attended as:
• An SLP supporting children and families in SoCal
• An SLPA Supervisor supporting my amazing team
• CSHA's Vice President of Membership & Outreach
• A presenter, training clinicians across the state
• Past chair of the Early Intervention Committee
• A colleague and friend to so many great folx!

The last few months have been super challenging, but participating in our state professional organization has brought so much meaning and purpose to me in all of these roles. It makes me a better clinician, supervisor, leader, presenter, advocate, colleague, and friend.

I hope everyone also had as wonderful a time as I did, I can't wait to keep expanding our reach and making our field more inclusive, accessible, equitable, diverse, and supportive. Much love to all! 💙🩵💛 Kelly
