Hello Speech Solutions takes pride in creating individualized, patient-centered services in speech-language, feeding, and myofunctional therapy for our clients of all ages. We aim to bridge the gap in the quality and access of speech-language services in and around the Los Angeles area through in-home visits and teletherapy.

This year we’re celebrating 4 incredible years of serving our community through speech therapy! What started as a small dream has grown into something bigger than we imagined, and it’s all because of YOU.

Summer so far has been filled with so much activities, sound play, stickers, literacy building, new vocabulary and sensory experiences, looooots of questions, making choices, participating in case/effect play, following recipes, and even using choice words (see last slide) to indicate feelings about a hard activity.

From firefighters risking everything to protect us, to neighbors opening their homes and hearts, and the many volunteers offering donated goods and monetary support, this is what community looks like. 💪🏽❤️

There are so many misconceptions regarding the use of AACs, its users, and capabilities.

Here are a few common myths:
❌it will not hinder a child/adult from speaking

❌it’s not only for non-speaking individuals

❌it’s not only low tech

❌the user will not need to meet prerequisites to obtain an AAC

❌it’s not a “last resort” to get someone to communicate

What it CAN do:
✅Facilitate functional communication

✅Teach an individual how to communicate their needs and reduce frustration

✅Increase confidence to communicate with others

✅Preserve an individual’s voice through custom voice recording options

✅Personalize icons with pictures and people important to that individual

AAC is more than just a device or pictures, it allows incredible ideas to be communicated. What are your favorite AAC programs?

Facilitated play sessions can be fun for both child and parent! Parents get a special look at how SLPs create multiple opportunities to model new words, express their ideas, and expand play schemas. As a bonus, these two littles get to practice their social skills together!
