An existential crisis might leave you feeling like something is off and your choices are incongruent with what feels like a meaningful way to live.

Questions like, “is this what I want, is this who I am?” often begin to emerge.

Challenges of private practice (coming from someone who loves being in private practice)!

Private practice is amazing for so many people but definitely not for everyone.

I love wearing many different hats, leaning into the business side of things, and expanding in ways that I never thought possible.

To me the freedom, flexibility, and lifestyle make all of the cons worth it. 🫶

In existential analysis, we learn that while the theories and explanations are important, before we jump in with an explanation, we want to encounter.

And we encounter by first putting our assumptions, theories, and preconceived ideas aside so that we can truly see what’s actually there 🫶

Here’s what anxious attachment often looks like 💔

If this resonates with you, save this and come back to it later for a gentle reminder. 🫶

Life will continue challenging you through different phases and transitions 🩷 try asking yourself, what areas still have some opportunities for growth?

Having it “all figured out” isn’t the goal, but being open and receptive to addressing your blind spots will help you navigate new chapters.

Dating tips from a therapist specializing in relationships, attachment trauma, and women navigating a quarter-life crisis:

1. Taking it at face value can save us a lot of time, mind games, and suffering. If the behavior is inconsistent, unreliable, confusing, etc. it might be best to recognize that the dynamic is not meeting your needs and let that be enough.

2. Rejection is so painful - and try to not personalize it. A lack of compatibility does not mean your worth is less valuable.

3. If you’re prioritizing dating, that’s great. And make sure you’re still nurturing other values in your life because these are still so important for fulfillment.

My training in existential analysis has informed so much of the way I practice as a therapist now (and how I live my life) and I love the concept of inner consent.

Try asking yourself, is this an inner yes, or am I just saying “yes” to this out of habit, familiarity, or other people’s expectations?

Our day to day choices matter. Leave a 🩷 if it resonates with you.
