Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a revolutionary new treatment for depression, chronic pain, and other difficult-to-treat illnesses involving the mind and brain. UCLA TMS is the premier provider of TMS for patients in Los Angeles County. We are pleased to announce the expansion of our services to a new clinic in Pasadena to better serve patients throughout the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding communities.

TMS is a safe, non-invasive treatment that applies gentle magnetic pulses to specific areas of the brain. By delivering energy to mood-regulating regions, TMS resets brain networks and helps patients recover from depression. Approximately two-thirds of patients of our patients receive substantial relief from their depression after TMS. Different approaches to TMS also can help relieve chronic pain, OCD, tinnitus, and other conditions.

Welcome to UCLA TMS!

TMS was FDA approved for depression in 2008 and a new, shorter treatment called “theta burst stimulation” requiring as little as 3 minutes per treatment was FDA approved in 2018. A typical treatment course involves daily treatments, Monday through Friday, for six weeks. Treatment is often covered by insurance, and provides 50-60% of people with a meaningful reduction in their symptoms.
