Birth control is having a moment online (and not a good one!) The misinformation is loud, so we’re going louder with the actual science. 📢🥼
Have you been hearing online that birth control is “evil”and causes cancer? We have too, so we did the research so you don’t have to! 🧐✨
Yes, Birth control is considered a “Group 1 carcinogen” but so are alcohol, processed meats, and night shifts. Many of the people telling you to ditch birth control are probably still staying up late, eating from charcuterie boards, and drinking rosé - no? 👀
Birth control being a group 1 carcinogen means it CAN cause cancer, NOT that the risk is high. The breast cancer risk increase is statistically small, while the pill significantly reduces ovarian and endometrial cancer risk. 👏
The pill changed everything for women’s rights: giving so many people control over their bodies, careers, and futures in ways previous generations never had. We don’t give up bacon or wine despite the same classification - so why the double standard? 🍷🥓🤷♀️
