Our Old English Mastiff Family
Hello and welcome. I've been wanting to do this page for a while. With having a short stay at the hospital and some time off from work, I can start here. Having raised our family, and then enjoying our grandchildren, we found that after many busy years we had time to ourselves. Life had slowed down for us to enjoy, and we did. Except for work there is always work...lol After some years of just the two of us, our home became just too quiet. Something needed to be added. A new family member, that was it! We had always admired English Mastiffs "The Gentle Giants". So we took our time and researched the breed. We read everything available, as to be sure this was the perfect breed for us before making a lifetime commitment to our future family member. We were not disappointed! Let us share our pups with you. Our male "Handsome" is a beautiful fawn, with a giant blocked head. He is truly a gentle giant. He weighs in at 187lbs. at 2 1/2 years old. He will add more weight by next year. The giants grow for 3 years, and considered to be pups until then. They are regal, confident, and loyal. They're size is intimidating, but they are "The Gentle Giants". They most definitely have intuitive knowledge, and are wonderful family members. Our female "Fiona" is a majestic girl, extremely playful, goofy at times and loves to talk to you...lol She is a gorgeous light fawn, with a diamond shaped mask. She weighs in at 140lbs. at 13 months old. She's our cuddle bug, with a personality as big as she is! Always making us laugh and putting smiles on our faces. From the very day we brought Fiona home, Handsome couldn't have been more joyful over our new baby. His paternal instincts kicked in from the get go. He kept her clean and watched over her. On walks if he gets ahead a bit, he stops to check on her and make sure she's keeping up. When she was little enough he would pin her down with one paw and clean her ears. When she was big enough to go to the dog park for socialization, he kept a good eye on her at all times. Fiona and Handsome are two peas in a pod for sure. With a possible future breeding in mind, we thought this page would allow you to get to know the personalities of our pups, and the breed.
