Sometimes the universe tells you what’s up and it’s a good idea to listen. Our wifi went out and I decided to go to the coffee shop to finish working. Normally, I like being in my little corner of my room where everything is familiar but today I embraced the “inconvenience”. Can I just tell you how NICE it is? The chill energy, seeing people’s faces that I’ve never met, the beautiful sunset out the window and the coffee shop playlist is giving me LIFE. A reminder to get outside of your comfort zone sometimes even if you don’t want to. I feel inspired! Also, if you don’t want caffeine late in the day, the peach tea at Starbucks is delicious, and it’s herbal and caffeine free. Happy Friday, friends.

Creativity: one of the primary foods taught in integrative nutrition school. Expressing your creativity is one of the markers of health and wellbeing, no matter how you do it. Whether it's through fashion, art, writing, making mood boards or cooking, it's such an important outlet. I love how simple it is to create a mood board on canva, but what I love most is cutting up magazines and creating a physical vision board that I hang on my wall. I have manifested some impressive things with those vision boards without even realizing it. The trick is, don't overthink it or plan it out, just go with what speaks to you in the moment! What inspired me to start Holistic with Kristen? I started this business in 2019 as a way to bring together everything I had learned from personal experience with the education and certification I received from IIN. I have always been the researcher, reader and sharer of knowledge and the friend that people come to for advice on nutrition, health and life. I wanted to create a way to give knowledge to as many women as possible because I was always surprised by how little people really knew about their own health and well-being. If I go back far enough, this business started when I created “clubs” in grade school with binders full of suggestions, and “questionnaires for friends and teachers to respond to so I could understand them better. Seed were planted when I majored in psychology and found myself working in Human Resources. I will continue learning, growing, sharing and evolving alongside you and my purpose is to light the way for to understand yourself better, make the best decisions for yourself that you can in that moment, and pursue your own research and growth for the rest of your life. I won’t always get it right, but that’s part of the education too. I’m curious, if you could do anything you wanted, what would it be?⁣⁣⁣⁣
