Although the hospital is a great place to treat a patient, often times we forget that our loved one is on hospice care because their health conditions cannot be treated. It is very important for the patients caregivers to be on the same page and reiterate the end-of-life care plan with all loved ones. We can take all the necessary steps to avoid our patient passing in alone and in pain. However, if members of the family are unaware of the plan, it can cause situations like this one that is out of our control. Everyone around the patient needs to have knowledgeable of the plan.
