Spa Sophia Spa Sophia is a boutique spa retreat in the heart of Venice. Providing the West Side community with Spa Sophia began its transformation 8 years ago.

What was once a Pilates studio nestled above bustling Abbot Kinney Blvd. is now a beachy retreat with hard wood floors and high beamed ceilings–An oasis full of natural light and sea breeze. Our vision at Spa Sophia addresses the total person. This means not only targeting problem areas (like a specific neck pain or an acne break out) but taking into consideration the person as a whole. We tailor our treatments to meet each clients’ needs at that moment. We listen and approach each concern with our expertise and a genuine curiosity, so that together we may achieve your goals. Here at Spa Sophia we are committed to continuing to learn about the latest treatments and discoveries allowing us to offer you only the best products, modalities and techniques. We have a down to earth approach to wellness. We believe it’s about feeling radiant and alive in our own skin and body. Our Story

Sophia Marzocchi is a skin care therapist and founder of holistic wellness and beauty haven: Spa Sophia in Venice Beach, CA.

Sophia grew up in the remote coastal town of Bolinas in Northern California, where a reverence for nature, sustainability and the arts were a part of the community and are values that she continues to foster. Sophia attended UC Santa Cruz to major in Women’s Studies, which then prompted her move to Brazil to work with a non-profit focusing on women's health.

After moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the arts, it was during this time that Sophia struggled with her own inexplicable skin issues. It gave her a stark awareness of beauty ideals and pressures in relation to self confidence. It was this personal experience that spurred her to begin her own skincare journey. The solutions always left her feeling worse - harsh chemicals that dried and stripped the skin or do-nothing natural products that left the skin greasy and congested. There needed to be a holistic solution that blended nurturing botanicals with active ingredients.

Sophia is now a master esthetician. Her private practice's demand quickly led her to expand into what is now a thriving business, Spa Sophia. A family of passionate, dedicated and expert estheticians, massage therapists and an Ayurvedic practitioner who share the same vision.
