Our vision at Spa Sophia addresses the total person. This means not only targeting problem areas (like a specific neck pain or an acne break out) but taking into consideration the person as a whole. For big moments like this I rarely start the day of. The goal is to really understand the skin ahead of time so everything looks effortless when it matters. ✨
We began with PRX to refine and brighten the skin, followed by cold plasma earlier in the week to calm inflammation and stimulate repair. (You can’t apply makeup right after plasma, so timing is key.)
Then day of… BAM. 🌟 Microcurrent for depuffing and lift, finished with an oxygen serum for that deep, supple hydration. LA has a way of drying everyone out.
And of course the incredibly talented makeup artist bringing it all together. Skin prep + artistry = magic. 💫

Sophia Marzocchi is a skin care therapist and founder of holistic wellness and beauty haven: Spa Sophia in Venice Beach, CA.
Sophia grew up in the remote coastal town of Bolinas in Northern California, where a reverence for nature, sustainability and the arts were a part of the community and are values that she continues to foster. Sophia attended UC Santa Cruz to major in Women’s Studies, which then prompted her move to Brazil to work with a non-profit focusing on women's health.
After moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the arts, it was during this time that Sophia struggled with her own inexplicable skin issues. It gave her a stark awareness of beauty ideals and pressures in relation to self confidence. It was this personal experience that spurred her to begin her own skincare journey. The solutions always left her feeling worse - harsh chemicals that dried and stripped the skin or do-nothing natural products that left the skin greasy and congested. There needed to be a holistic solution that blended nurturing botanicals with active ingredients.
Sophia is now a master esthetician. Her private practice's demand quickly led her to expand into what is now a thriving business, Spa Sophia. A family of passionate, dedicated and expert estheticians, massage therapists and an Ayurvedic practitioner who share the same vision.
