It’s ✨ and we want to remind you to make sure to schedule your regular teeth cleanings! 🧼🦷
Obvious? 🧐 maybe- but we say it because we want to remind you of how it lowers the amount of bacteria in the mouth. ❕
Women go through many phases in their life 🧭 and regular teeth cleanings can help keep you healthy. There are hormonal changes in women’s lives - puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause those changes can be reflected in the gums.
Hormones start to change in puberty which can inflame the gums - they can become swollen and bleed. 🩸
During pregnancy 🤰 women can also see changes because of hormones. Women who are pregnant can also develop inflammation and gum issues. When you are pregnant it is encouraged to get your teeth cleaned as long as it is in the second trimester.
During peri menopause and menopause 💁♀️ bone loss can increase. Daily flossing can help to get the plaque buildup from between the teeth which helps with bone loss.
Many women test low for Vitamin D which is reflected in the prevalence of osteopenia and osteoporosis. 🦴
Hygienists are trained to clean patients teeth, check pocket depth and look for cavities so we can be preventative. 😁
The best dentistry is no dentistry. 🦷
