Today my babies are tweens.
Mother’s Day celebrations are not necessarily “instagram worthy” because I can’t get everyone to gather and smile in a photo. 🫤 But they’re real and they’re mine. We celebrate in our own way and I wouldn’t trade it for any other version.

It’s a day I always reflect on my journey into motherhood. When I was little, the only certainty I had about my future was that I wanted to be a mom. It wasn’t easy. I struggled to get pregnant. I felt defeated. And then one day, 7 years into my marriage, I read a test that said Pregnant. My next pregnancy after the twins came easily. P**f, in the blink of an eye, I had 3 (19 months apart). And then life speed up. It was busy and messy and overwhelming and I absolutely loved it.
And I still do.

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone that steps into the role of Mother. And prayers for everyone on the journey of motherhood, especially those that had to give their children back.

But to me, the science of touch convincingly suggests that we’re wired to—we need to—connect with other people on a basic physical level. To deny that is to deprive ourselves of some of life’s greatest joys and deepest comforts.
