Celebrating 40-years of service!

The mission of the Violence Intervention Program (VIP) is to protect and treat all victims of family violence and sexual assault building innovative programs to serve vulnerable children and families in Los Angeles. VIP offers around-the-clock medical, forensic, mental health, support and advocacy services to children in foster care and other victims of child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse and dependent adult abuse. VIP is a groundbreaking Family Advocacy Center that works with families, schools, and other community organizations in East Los Angeles on public health, community outreach and education programs to break the cycle of violence. VIP is a partnership between the publicly funded VIP medical clinics for child abuse, sexual assault and elder abuse at the LAC+USC Medical Center and the private, nonprofit VIP Community Mental Health Center, which provides mental health, educational support and community violence prevention programs for children and teens. The goal is to work together to provide a complete continuum of services for extremely vulnerable individuals who lack other resources.

Between the government shutdown which has now frozen vital social services like food stamps and SNAP benefits, and food banks closing all across Los Angeles County, our clients are quite literally without food, in a way we’ve never seen before. 🪩PARTNER SPOTLIGHT🪩 Few organizations support the work we do with more steadfast resolve than . Thanks to them, VIP has been able to assist numerous families and initiatives with their funds specifically targeted to individual causes that require immediate intervention. Just recently, they provided $15,000 to the victims of the Montebello hatchet attacks and are helping to ensure the survivors have what they need to heal. We couldn’t do what we do without the support of incredible folks like The Change Reaction!

🎉PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT🎉 VIP’s Birth to Five Program specializes in treating children in the early stages of development, ages birth to five. The earlier VIP can strengthen a family, the better chance there is for a positive outcome. The goal in Birth to Five is not merely the short-term immediate changes in behavior, but rather the long-term patterns that will positively affect the family throughout a child’s upbringing; often resulting in the caregiver identifying their own symptoms of trauma, anxiety and/or depression. 🎃HELP!👻 It’s spooky season at VIP with our annual Halloween Costume Drive, and we need YOUR help to make sure our teens trick-or-treat in style. Any costume you purchase will be distributed to one of hundreds of youth across L.A. County. These costumes are distributed at our Boyle Heights campus, and include special trick-or-treating with our clinicians as well! Halloween is a group effort here at VIP!
