In this class, Dr. Susie Menkes, pediatric sleep expert and founder of Healthy Little Sleepers, breaks down why newborn sleep can feel so unpredictable in the early weeks.

Newborns aren’t born with established circadian rhythms or the ability to produce melatonin (our powerful sleep hormone). So they truly don’t know the difference between day and night yet.

One of the most important ways to gently support better nighttime sleep?
✨ Offering full feeds at least every 3 hours during the day to help fill those bellies and reduce frequent night wakings.

If you want practical, evidence-based strategies to calm a fussy baby, read sleepy cues, and set your newborn up for sleep success, this class is for you.

Spots are limited — we’ll see you February 17th 💙

“I tried everything… and I still couldn’t exclusively breastfeed.”

Mom guilt around feeding is REAL — and it’s heavier than most people talk about.

There is so much pressure — from ourselves, from social media, from doctors, from comparison — to believe there’s only one “right” way to feed your baby.
But the truth is: there is more than one healthy, loving feeding journey.

✨ Exclusive breastfeeding
✨ Supplementing
✨ Formula feeding

All of them can be filled with love, bonding, and a healthy baby.

If you’ve ever questioned yourself, felt like you failed, or carried silent guilt about how you fed your baby — this message is for you.
You’re not alone. You’re not doing it wrong. And you are an incredible mom. 🤍

🎥 Watch until the end — you may need to hear this today.

Newborn sleepy cues can be so subtle, especially in the first month 🤍
Instead of waiting for fussiness or crying, look for early signs like:
👀 staring off
😴 reduced engagement
👁️ redness around the eyes
🥱 yawning
🌬️ hiccups

By around 1 hour of awake time (including feeding!), most newborns are already ready for sleep — sometimes even sooner. Catching these cues early helps prevent overtiredness and supports healthier newborn sleep.

🚗 Is your child really ready to ride without a booster?

✅ Shoulder belt across the mid-shoulder (not the neck)

✅ Lap belt low on the hips

✅ Knees bend naturally at the seat edge

❌ Slouching, belt on the stomach, or belt on the neck = booster still needed

Many kids aren’t ready for a seat belt without a booster until 10–12 years old — and that’s okay! (Even if their friends are doing things differently) Proper fit = better protection.

When in doubt, keep the booster. Safety > convenience/peer pressure 💙

Tummy time tips for newborns with Dr. Inessa 💙

If you’re wondering how to do tummy time with your newborn, here’s a simple way to start once the umbilical cord falls off.
Place baby on a firm surface, bring their elbows under their shoulders, and let them practice lifting their head. This helps with neck strength, core development, and helps keep the back of the head nice and round.

Start with just a few seconds — and increase time as the baby grows! Your Baby will get stronger over time.
Save this for your tummy time routine 👶✨

Prevent choking with one simple rule 👇
If your toddler won’t sit to eat… they’re probably not that hungry.
Running, climbing, or walking with food = a major choking risk.
Set the boundary: “When we eat, we sit. If you get up, we’re done.”
It’s not punishment — it’s protection. 💛
Save this for later + share with another parent who needs it!

Cold + Flu Season Update from Dr. Inessa ❄️🤧
We’re seeing so many cold viruses this season, and remember — the same virus can look totally different from child to child.

For example, parainfluenza (which we’re seeing a LOT of right now) might cause just a mild cold in one kid… but in another, it can cause croup.

👶 What is croup?
It’s when the windpipe gets swollen, leading to a barky cough and a whistling sound when breathing called stridor.

💙 At-home treatment for croup:
• A steam shower 🚿
• A walk outside in cold air ❄️ (as long as it’s not raining!)

These simple steps can make a BIG difference. Always call your pediatrician if symptoms worsen or you’re concerned.
