Thank you to the UCLA Healthy Campus Initiative and the generous support of Jane and Terry Semel for allowing us to partner with BEWell in the recent award of our student funding grant. In the upcoming semester, ELS will host talks with experts on current environmental issues and provide healthy, vegetarian and vegan-friendly food. ELS will also organize events on campus that promote sustainability and encourage students to spend time outside and in nature to combat stress. Keep an eye out for upcoming events at UCLA's Botanical Garden and Sculpture Garden and stay tuned for updates on UCLA Law's organic aromatherapy herb garden!

Happy Earth Day ELS!!

I know it is a busy time for law students but if you are looking for a break from the stress of finals there are lots of things going on today and this weekend to celebrate Earth Day!

Today, RIGHT NOW, there are events in Dickson Courtyard hosted by UCLA's E3 Organization. More information about this event and other on-campus Earth Day/Week opportunities is available at: http://newsroom.ucla.edu/stories/earth-day-2015-at-ucla-a-fair-movies-and-more.

Up until May 3 you can also check out Sink or Swim: Designing for a Sea Change at the Annenberg Space for Photography in Century City. It's a free photography gallery that is featuring pieces about climate change and sea level rise right now. I went a few weeks ago and it was very moving and inspirational. Great videos too! More info here: http://annenbergphotospace.org/exhibits/sink-or-swim.

This Saturday you can take part in the Los Angeles River CleanUp hosted by the Friends of the Los Angeles River. More info here: http://folar.org/events/cleanup-2015/

Last but not least, you can celebrate a day late with ELS tomorrow at our End of the Year Party by RSVP'ing here: http://goo.gl/forms/ubI4qLReim

Have a great Earth Day everyone!

Attend lectures, see a ‘green chef’ competition or appreciate art in celebration of Earth Day.
