I started working out with Kim two months ago and the results have been phenomenal. I've always thought of myself as "in shape", and before Kim, I worked out almost everyday for over three years, trained for a half marathon, and ate relatively healthily. I was extremely frustrated with my weight and the inability to lose the "pouch" that many women have. I told Kim my short and long term goals, and she came up with a both an eating plan and a workout plan for me. The eating plan was considered a "diet", but is more of a way of eating than specific meals. I workout with her 2 to 3 times a week; the workouts consist of weights and cardio. Since starting with her just two months ago, I've lost almost 15 pounds. I look leaner and hav even started working out in just sports bras because I'm finally happy to show off my stomach! Unfortunately I'm moving away soon but Kim has already agreed to come up with workout plans and eating plans for when I'm away becuase she truly cares about my health, beyond the time that I spend with her.
In terms of her busniess manner, she's always on time and always trying to fit me into her schedule. Traveling to peopls' homes is very difficult and time consuming, but Kim plans excellently. There have been times where I wanted to get a workout in at the last minute and she was willing to sacrifice her dinner time to come train me.
I have had trainers in the past and NONE have been as great as Kim. I am extremely happy with my body and I could not have done it without her.

I came to Los Angeles for a month and I hired Kim to train me during that time. I knew that if I didn't have a plan there was a danger I would do nothing. Kim was a pleasure to work with. I'm not an exercise fan, (at all) but it was fun to work out with Kim. The first day she came with her TRX equiptment and I really learned a lot. I purchased one while I was in the states and worked out with it between our training sessions. She was also kind enough to lend me one until mine was delivered. Kim helped me to work out a regime that I am actually doing at home. This is major for me. She also showed me some new exercises that are perfectly suited to my body. I think she is great and I will definitely use her next time I am in Los Angeles.

Before I purchaced the Groupon workout package with Kim, I called her to discuss my health issues and see if she could train me with my limitations. I have had several trainers in the past, who said yes, and then made my issues worse. Kim, on the other hand, has been great!. She has been nothing but professional, and extremely encouraging in helping me with my weight loss goals. She makes working out (almost) enjoyable! She always has a smile on her face! I would recommend her to anyone who wants a trainer who cares!

Had my 1st personal training session with Kim and it was PHENOMENAL!!! She is a gentle beast of a trainer who won't let u quit but encourages u all the way thru. I'm looking 4ward 2 some great change & great times along this weight loss journey. Thx Kim!

Kim is a fabulous masseuse! She knows when to work on a body part and when to let it heal naturally. She got me through a very difficult time when I was awaiting a major shoulder surgery . She will always be a massage resource in my life. And best of all, she makes house calls!

Just had Kim visit my home for the 2nd time - this time for me; last time for my boyfriend. Kim does a mean massage (in a good way!) I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to pressure points but she focused on all the right spots and applied just the right amount of force to my trouble zones which are my neck and shoulders. Ahhh , felt juuuuust right :) Unlike me, my boyfriend likes and needs deep tissue and Kim did just that. She relieved him of the back pain he was recently suffering from. Kim has been nothing but friendly, approachable, easy going and great to talk to - If you're the type of person that's discouraged by those with a personality, then maybe she's not the right masseuse for you ;)

I purchased a deal on Lifebooker for a 60 min in-home massage. It was almost to good to be true, an affordable massage in the comfort of your own home. It was easy to make an appointment and KIm was on time and in great spirits ready to start working on the sea of knots I have in my back and shoulders.

With her bubbly personality and her magical hands, Kim is one of the best massage therapists I have experienced in this city ! I was lucky to experience her skills in the comfort of my home thanks to a Gathergreen coupon that made it totally affordable. Kim returns your call the day of and arrives on time with her equipment set in minutes. She unlocked some nerves on my shoulders that shot up to my head like a headache, only to ease out the pain almost instantly. This work needed to be done ! KIM IS BEYOND AMAZING...her hands are built for the great masseuse she is. I booked a "girl's massage party" with Kim a few days ago as a pre wedding gift for my sister in law and her bridesmaids... Kim spent an hour massaging each one of us and we were all well rested and felt GREAT after our massage session. She's a total sweetheart and has the patience of the world! i would totally recommend her to all of my friends and family members! her Groupon coupons ROCK!!!!!!

4 EXERCISES TO LEAVE BEHIND

As we all look forward to the start of another year, many people are committing to improve their health and fitness in 2018. In an effort to keep evolving and training clients in the most effective ways, here are four exercises that should be left behind in 2017, along with some much safer and more effective replacements.
Leg Throws

This exercise is a partner/trainer led movement, where one person lies on the floor and another stands at the head of the one on the floor and throws his or her legs toward the floor. In theory, the person on the floor uses his or her abdominals to stop the legs from hitting the floor, thus strengthening the core. In reality, however, so many things can go wrong with this exercise, particularly if the exerciser has a weakened core and tight hip flexors. Without stellar core strength, it is very difficult to successfully stop your legs from hitting the floor. Secondly, because of the shortened iliopsoas, the hip flexors catch first, causing the back to possibly go into hyperextension.

Replace this exercise with a plank to activate the three-dimensional core, while stabilizing the spine and elongating the hip flexors.
Lat Pull-downs Behind the Head

This exercise is usually performed with a bar or a resistance band. The direction of the pull makes this exercise less than safe. When the pulls are behind the head, most people assume a forward-head position to avoid the equipment hitting their head, a position that excessively loads the spine. Secondly, the shoulders are placed in horizontal abduction and external rotation, which puts excessive stress on the rotator cuff muscles to stabilize the shoulder joint.

Replace this exercise with a lat pull-down to the front of the body (or chest).
Full Sit-ups

The full sit-up has been a topic of debate for some time. While there is no consensus regarding the injury risk of performing full sit-ups, enough research raises questions regarding the benefit-to-risk ratio that, for most people, full-sit-ups just aren’t worth it. The pressure this exercise puts on the spine may lead to issues in the discs. The movement also enlists tightened hip flexors to pull the upper body through the full range of motion, which further tightens these muscles. Many people experience back pain due to their overly contracted iliopsoas.

Choose instead a curl to gain the same spinal flexion without the extreme stressors of the full sit up.
Machine-based Seated Leg Extensions

This exercise is performed in a machine with isolated, seated leg extensions at the knee. With the weight or load fixed at the ankle, this movement provides a high level of torque at the knee that can lead to weakness and/or injury. The functionality, or lack thereof, needs to be looked at, as well. When the knee is in flexion in life or sport, it never engages in isolation (without other muscles to stabilize and support). Nor does this exercise support training for activities of daily living.

Replace seated leg extensions with a loaded squat using either dumbbells or a resistance band.
