We just returned from Uganda, where Dr. Lia Jacobson led a one woman mission that screened 30 children, performed 12 life changing surgeries, and trained 20 local residents and trainees. 🇺🇬💜
This week marked the start of a regional partnership to bring pediatric ENT training to residents from three hospitals across Uganda. Working alongside Dr. Fiona Kangenyi, the only pediatric ENT in the country, Dr. Jacobson helped provide life saving care for children with airway obstructions and complex head and neck tumors. 🩺🏥🧑⚕️
We also reunited with Dr. Ruth Kagere, who trained with us during our recent ENT mission in Tanzania, and whose team at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital hosted this productive and hopeful week. 🦋
