Greetings, Here is a patient of mine who had a Mohs surgery to excise a basal cell lesion in the scalp. It unfortunately resulted in a large scar in the frontal scalp and when the operating surgeon attempted to minimize the scar it actually got significantly worse. Greetings, Today FUE hair transplant procedures have made hair transplants less invasive and much more comfortable for the patient than ever before. Unfortunately one of the drawbacks of FUE is that there is a lower overall yield of the number of grafts from the donor zone as compared with FUT plus subsequent FUE procedures afterward. What this means is that it is very important to accurately estimate the end point of hair loss as well as the total available donor graft count so that a proper plan for hair restoration can be formulated at the beginning rather than running out of grafts later on and have to leave large areas of bald scalp without transplants. Greetings, FUE has become more popular than ever given the fact that in the hands of a skilled surgeon the results can be as good as FUT (The strip harvest method) or even in some cases better (due to the fact that with FUE we can choose which follicles to harvest and therefore choose the follicles with the most amount of hairs per follicle). Greetings, I am often asked what the donor zone looks like post FUE hair transplant so in response I have decided to post thesis photos showing the progression. Not all FUE hair transplant are created equal and some physicians use large punches which create large holes in the donor region. I typically use 0.8mm-0.9mm punch size tips and harvested properly the scars in the donor zone should be barely visible at very short haircuts. All the best, Marc Dauer, MD 24 more words

Here is a patient of mine one week post eyebrow transplant. This patient received just over 250 hairs per eyebrow that I harvested via FUE. The after photo is just one week post procedure. You can clearly see the defined angles of all the hairs which are crucial to creating the most natural result. In addition, with FUE I am able to choose the scalp hairs that will look the most natural in the eyebrow. This patient is already thrilled with her eyebrows. They will begin to shed shortly and most of the transplanted hairs will then start to grow back at 3 months and the full result should be seen at about 9 months post procedure.

Greetings, The patient below took photos with his hair wet over the course of his post hair transplant timeline. It very clearly shows typical timeline results. This patient had a previous procedure with another physician which resulted in low density and an unnatural hairline. Greetings, Typically FUE has been performed by shaving the entire back and sides of the scalp as the hairs harvested via FUE need to be very short. Recently I have been performing no shave FUE or long hair FUE. This technique involves cutting short the hairs to be harvested from the donor region individually while leaving the hair around it long. [ 70 more words ]

Another eyebrow transplant transformation. This patient of mine had very few eyebrow hairs and they were so fine they were virtually invisible and all growing downward. She had micro blading and was very disappointed with the results. I placed just under 300 hairs per eyebrow and the results are shown after 8 months. The patient has no eyebrow makeup in the after photo. She is thrilled with her results!

Greetings, In the past we needed to shave the back and sides of the scalp to perform FUE because the follicles can only be extracted as short hairs. Noe we have a new technique called long hair FUE. Here is a male eyebrow transplant patient of mine who received approximately 200 hairs to each eyebrow harvested via FUE. This patient had full eyebrows in his youth and lost many of his eyebrow hairs due to a genetic skin condition in his early 20’s. Male eyebrows are very different from female eyebrows. They are less defined in shape and less arched. Therefore my approach aesthetically to male eyebrow restoration is very different than it is for my female patients. This patient also like to keep his eyebrow hair a little longer and only trims them once a week. The patient is thrilled with his result.

Another eyebrow transplant transformation. I performed an FUE eyebrow transplant on this patient approximately 9 months ago. The patient had over plucked her eyebrows and then had multiple eyebrow tattoos. She was not satisfied with the eyebrow tattoos and I placed approximately 250 hairs harvested via FUE to each eyebrow. The patient is thrilled with her results.
