Proud of our most recent testimonial: way to go Ariela!

I suffered a TBI a few years back and I was very lucky to get referred to Ariela Shandling by my neurologist. My brain injury left me with many issues. Poor memory, not able to concentrate, unable to do simple math. The list can go on, but this is not about me. It's about Ariela who is genuine, kind and very patient. I truly believe if it hadn't been for her therapy and support system she created for me, I would be lost! I don't know where I would be on this healing journey without her. THANK YOU SO MUCH Ariela! Hi All! I get asked all the time about how to enrich an infant's language environment and this article has some great information on how speaking parentese over just regular speech helps your baby's language develop.

"We know from over 30 years of research in the lab that infants prefer parentese over standard speech, and that infants who are exposed to more parentese at home have larger vocabularies as toddlers"

A new study shows that parents who learn how and why to speak 'parentese' can have a direct impact on their children's vocabulary.

Happy New Year all! What better way to start off the new year than by learning an interesting new tid bit: turns out Accupuncture can be really helpful in remediating swallowing difficulties post-stroke! I love working with a variety of disciplines to ensure my patients have the best outcomes!

Screen time is such an important and hot topic. Everyday we must make the effort to minimize screen time and encourage our kids to play!

A recent study found "kids who spent more than two hours a day of screen time performed worse on cognitive tests compared to peers who spent less time. These cognitive skills included memory, processing speed, language skills, and attention span."
