Purpose of the Study & Who we are:
This is a collaborative study between about the settlement experiences of migrant youth between 3 countries: USA (Institute of Multicultural Counseling and Education Services—IMCES), Australia (University of South Australia, University of Adelaide, Australian Migrant Resource Centre—AMRC, Multicultural Youth South Australia—MYSA), and Canada (Newcomer Centre of Peel (NCP).
What is the study about?
This survey study will explore:
-Experiences of refugee and migrant youth settling into the USA and factors relevant for their successful settlement and wellbeing
-Effectiveness of support services currently available to youth and their families, and
-How policymakers and service providers can be impacted to better help refugee and migrant youth, and their families
This research has no connection with any political or religious groups, the Government, the Immigration Department or other similar organizations.
Acknowledgement & Appreciation for Participation
-Value of Participation: You are helping, collaborating, and contributing to the advancement of the scientific approach. This is a needs assessment to facilitate necessary policy changes and support for quality of life and equity to access resources for everyone.
-In addition: For those who choose to participate, there will be a $20 acknowledgement to cover expenses associated with participation (travel, refreshments)
-For those who help recruit participants through their own resources, there will be $20 acknowledgement to the recruiter for each individual recruited who completes the survey, verified by researcher who conducts the survey.

Who is qualified to participate?
-Young people aged 15‐24 years old
-From a refugee or non‐refugee migrant background
‐from South America, Africa, the Middle East or Asia
-Who have lived in the USA for more than 1 year & less than 15 years
