🚗 Big Win for California Car Culture: 'Leno’s Law' Heads to Senate Floor
California’s “Leno’s Law” (SB 712) has cleared the Senate Appropriations Committee and is now heading to the full Senate for a vote. This bill, sponsored by Senator Shannon Grove and backed by Jay Leno, aims to exempt collector cars 35 years and older from the state's stringent smog check requirements.
The legislation recognizes that these classic vehicles are primarily used for shows, parades, and special events, contributing minimally to overall emissions. It also supports California’s $40.44 billion specialty automotive aftermarket industry, which sustains over 149,000 jobs.
