Come join United and Ignited this Friday February 27th at 6:00pm where we will be talking about different types of relationships and what is needed for relationships to work. We will be talking about trust, respect, reciprocity, common interests, and healthy boundaries. United and Ignited is a group for siblings of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who can get together to learn how to be stronger advocates, share strategies for navigating barriers, and create a trusted space to talk about the issues affecting siblings and how to balance responsibilities to their family without ignoring their own needs.

Hablaremos sobre la confianza, el respeto, la reciprocidad, los intereses comunes y los límites saludables. Mañana, en Alianza De Hombres, revisaremos los cambios propuestos al sistema de servicios de desarrollo en el texto del proyecto de ley complementario. Es importante conocer los cambios que se proponen, ya que estas propuestas no entrarán en vigor hasta julio, por lo que aún hay tiempo para actuar e influir en el resultado. La siguiente lista recoge los cambios más importantes propuestos en el texto del proyecto de ley complementario.

The link below is a link to DDS's website that are the factsheets to all the proposed policy changes in the new trailer bill language. There is a lot of important proposed California policy changes in this trailer bill language from changes to the self-determination program, Regional Center board of directors, rate reform, remote services, early intervention oversight, and employment access. On Tuesday February 17 from 9:30am-10:45am the Statewide Self-Determination Advisory Committee will talk about proposed changes in the trailer bill language and what those changes mean when it comes to the Self-Determination Program.

The "Young Advocates for Change" will meet Friday February 13 at 6:00pm and the topic will be about how to deal with stress and what to do in different situations that cause stress. This topic is especially applicable because many feel they do not have enough time to work on everything they need to do and feel overwhelmed this Friday we will talk about how to manage stress.

Los «Jóvenes Defensores del Cambio» se reunirán el viernes 13 de febrero a las 6:00 p. m. y el tema será cómo lidiar con el estrés y qué hacer en diferentes situaciones que lo provocan. "United and Ignited" will have its first meeting of 2026 on Friday January 30th at 6:00pm. United and Ignited is a sibling group meant to empower siblings of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and help them find a balance between helping their families while also not ignoring their own needs. The main topic for our meeting on Friday will be about effective communication and how that can improve our activities in the group and what we do in our personal lives. We will also go over meeting topics that have been suggested in the past month and see which are most relevant to this group together. It has been a long time since we last met, but now it is time to reconnect, grow as a group, and find out how we can take action and have our voices heard.

«United and Ignited» celebrará su primera reunión de 2026 el viernes 30 de enero a las 18:00. United and Ignited es un grupo de hermanos cuyo objetivo es empoderar a los hermanos de personas con discapacidades intelectuales y del desarrollo y ayudarles a encontrar un equilibrio entre ayudar a sus familias y no ignorar sus propias necesidades. El tema principal de nuestra reunión del viernes será la comunicación eficaz y cómo esta puede mejorar nuestras actividades en el grupo y lo que hacemos en nuestra vida personal. También repasaremos los temas de reunión que se han sugerido durante el último mes y veremos cuáles son los más relevantes para este grupo. Ha pasado mucho tiempo desde la última vez que nos reunimos, pero ahora es el momento de volver a conectar, crecer como grupo y descubrir cómo podemos actuar y hacer oír nuestra voz.
