Hope Street Margolis Family Center Hope Street Margolis Family Center is a community health, education, and recreation program of Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center (CHMC)

Hope Street Margolis Family Center is a community health, education, and recreation program of Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center (CHMC), a non-profit hospital that has served Los Angeles since 1887. CHMC is committed to improving the health and wellness of its community through a philosophy of service that is based on strengthening the health, development, and success of children and families as the cornerstone of creating healthier neighborhoods. In keeping with this vision, in 1992 CHMC collaborated with the University of California Los Angeles to expand prevention and early intervention services for low-income young families by establishing Hope Street Margolis Family Center. All programs are provided at no cost and are primarily supported through public grants and contracts and private philanthropy. Learn more by visiting hopestreetfamilycenter.org. We have identified 75 families who need extra help this holiday season.

You can create hope for one of these families by fulfilling some of their basic needs such as food, clothing and household items—and a touch of holiday cheer. Sign up by November 15 here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/hfthcaf23 for Celebrate a Family to be matched with a family and help them with their personal wish lists. Can we count on you to help a family this year?

How Celebrate a Family Works:

🎁 Step 1: Complete this brief survey by Wednesday, November 15, 2023.

🎁 Step 2: Each donor will be matched with a family and receive a description of the family’s situation along with a profile and wish list for each member highlighting their interests, clothing sizes, ages and first names. Families will remain anonymous to donors, and donors will not be able to meet the families out of respect for their privacy.

🎁 Step 3: Once matched with a family, donors will be asked to contribute approximately $100 worth of items per family member (e.g., a family of four is $400) based on the family’s profile.
An important note about gift cards: We strongly encourage sponsors to donate items based on the family's wish list you receive. Gift cards should only be purchased as supplemental gifts for the family. If you’re purchasing gift cards, we encourage choosing ones from large, well-known and accessible retailers and avoiding boutique shops. If you’re unsure, please contact 213.742.5747.

🎁 Step 4. Donors will receive specific delivery instructions upon being matched.

Drop-off your gifts by Friday, December 15, 2023 to:

ATTN: Celebrate a Family
Hope Street Margolis Family Center
1600 South Hope Street
Los Angeles, CA 90015

Gifts will be delivered to families by Hope Street staff.

❄🎁We're excited to announce the return of !
This program provides critical support to our children and families during the holiday season and beyond.

Participating is simple with 3 easy, impactful steps:

🧸Toy drive—Help us reach our goal to provide 2,500 toys for children between the ages of 0 to 18.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Celebrate a family—Hope Street staff have identified 75 families who need additional assistance to celebrate the holiday season. Register by November 15 to be matched with a family and provide items from their personal "wish lists.

🎁 Donate—Donating to the Hope Street Emergency Family Assistance Fund will help address specific urgent family needs throughout the year.

Approximately 40% of the households in our geographic service area earn less than $25,000 per year—and we need your help to create hope for families by fulfilling some of their basic needs such as food, clothing and household items.

Last year, thanks to generous donors like you, we distributed over 2,000 toys, supported 54 Hope Street families and raised more than $53,000 for family emergency assistance. Help us help even more children and families this year and beyond!
