Sadly, our healthcare system's focus is primarily on disease and the study of function. This is the most basic level with four other paradigms related to performing but stressed, wellness, vitality, and regeneration.
Most doctors (god bless 'em) are not trained in the causes, symptoms, and solutions to stress, nor are they educated in the nuances of nutrition.
We must take charge of our health in the same way we have to take charge of our finances. No one is going to do it for us. Education is our most powerful tool to become informed, knowledgable, and aware of making better choices.

OMG, it is so confusing about what to eat if you want to be healthy and enjoy your food at the same time!
I have found that when you focus on what is healthy, tasty, and nutritious, the choices become easy. What we eat impacts how we feel when we eat it as well as how we sleep, wake up, and the energy we have throughout the day. Not to mention the long term impact on how we feel and how long we live.
Yikes, there is so much conflicting information out there.
Try this. Start with these symptoms of optimum nutrition and work backward to decide what to eat. Let your results be your guide. Throw out all the advice of what you should or should not do and use straightforward, simple logic. It either works, or it does not.
Throw out the fancy rules and expensive supplements!

Today's environment is loaded with stressors!
Now is a perfect time to discover what stress is, how it works, and how to manage it. Some people wish for a stress-free life, but not all stress is bad. Without stress, there would be no growth. Too much pressure and emotional stress turn into physical stress, which, when chronic, causes system failure and severe disease.
There are four types of emotional stress:
1. Anticipatory Stress.
2. Acute Stress.
3. Chronic Stress.
4. Eustress.
Positive stress counters negative stress, just like two waves mingling and opposing each other. If the positive stress (wave) is larger than the negative stress (wave), forwarding progress, and enhanced wellbeing are the result! The opposite is true for most people.
Just thinking about stressful events causes stress!
The three most common sources of stress are; health problems, relationship issues, and money worries. The more we worry about something, the more it tends to enhance the stress, which becomes a self-reinforcing cycle.
We all know that eating well, exercise and relaxation are part of a stress reduction program. What is less known is that identifying and solving the core problem, discussing it with a trusted friend, and getting into action on it are critical!
Let's work together to increase our eustress and reduce our negative stress!

Yo, Dr. Mike does a great job of fact checking. This is an excellent reminder to consider both sides of an argument - before jumping to a conclusion. Often, the side that scores the most emotional points wins. Don’t let emotion sway you from the facts.
From a health point of view, there are so many conflicting opinions. For example, are eggs good for you, or not? We all have to take charge of our health, own it, and do our own research and come to our own conclusions.
If something new comes along that conflicts with the position you had taken, change it!
Don’t be one of those people who abdicate their health outcomes to doctors or anyone who sounds credible.
