I brought my Badass Boundary skills into motherhood with me.
And let me tell you, they’ve served me well.
I have genuinely *thrived* in these early months of motherhood. Apparently, that is possible.
This is not to say I have had an easy time. I have been stretched beyond belief, had lots to grieve, with less sleep than I’ve ever had in my life, and many moments of overwhelm and feeling sorry for myself.
But they were just moments.
Having Badass Boundaries has taught me that suffering is unnecessary.
I’ll say that again: *suffering is unnecessary*.
Being a boundaried person has meant that I can quickly recognize the signals that my needs are not being met, and instead of tolerating endlessly into burnout, or getting stuck in victimhood and blame, I can choose to take action to change course.
It means that I have:
🤜🏼A healthy respect for my limits
🤜🏼A deep valuing of my needs, wants, and even preferences
🤜🏼Lots of practice in creating “win” situations for myself and others by asking for what I want
And, by the way, none of this requires my baby to sleep better, or to change her needs or behavior in any way. My strategy for well-being doesn’t require me to control her at all.
Having good boundaries has not at all been about saying “No” to her, but all about finding ways to say “Yes” to me.
And because I am nourished and resourced, I can be available and generous for the endless acts of service needed in this caregiving role, while still being present for all of the joy.

If you are ready to transform your boundaries to work for you, I created a course that does it brilliantly.
Badass Boundaries for Leaders is a 6 week course designed to support your transformation through
👏🏼 Educational videos that thoroughly help you understand how boundaries work
👏🏼Live classes for embodied practice, peer support, and powerful coaching
👏🏼Daily/weekly practices that will enhance your skills and change your life
This is no pilot. It’s tried and true: we’ve been running this course for a year and a half at The Connection Institute and its predecessor a year before that. And every time, I hear about the deep impact it has. People leave with more time, energy, and literally make more money once they’re done.
The next cohort begins Nov 3rd. Laura Tatar, Life Navigator is an amazing coach and facilitator who will be leading the live calls, and you’ll get to spend time with me in the videos.
Early bird ends on Friday and you don’t want to miss it!
