Pregnancy and Flying

Traveling via airplane is a health risk for pregnant women. However, a recent study cleared some things up regarding these health risks. It established that flying does not really have any effect on pregnancy. The main concern involved, though, is deep vein thrombosis or DVT. This is when a blood clot forms in a deep vein of the leg, leading to inflammation. The risk of DVT is higher among pregnant women during flying because immobility for a long period of time is a risk factor for them.
