A multicenter randomized controlled trial (RCT) published in 2024 looked at whether acupuncture could help these hard-to-treat cases. The study compared real acupuncture to sham (placebo) acupuncture while patients continued their usual medications. The results were both significant and clinically meaningful.

Los Angeles County, CA — November 5, 2025: The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (DPH) has confirmed 61 rabid bats so far this year, marking the second-highest number ever recorded.

𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬
Never touch bats or wild animals.
𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭: If a bat is found indoors, especially near sleeping people or pets, cover it safely and call Animal Control.
Seek medical care immediately if contact occurred or rabies is suspected.
Vaccinate pets, including indoor cats. Rabies in animals is 100% fatal but preventable.
Recognize sick bats: Active during the day, on the ground, or unable to fly.

In a major step forward for integrative health education, Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) and Pacific College of Health and Science (PCHS) have signed an agreement through which SCU will assume control of PCHS’s Chicago and San Diego campuses.

SCU to acquire PCHS’s Chicago and San Diego campuses, forming the nation’s largest accredited TCM program and expanding integrative health education.

The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) is currently reviewing two proposals for new specialty recognition — one of which is veterinary acupuncture. The American Board of Veterinary Specialties (ABVS) organizing committee estimates that between 4,000 and 5,000 veterinarians in the U.S. currently practice acupuncture. Of these, about 80% treat small animals, while 10–20% focus on equine patients, and a smaller number work with farm animals, exotic species, and zoo animals.

Very well known among everyone, I think every person can recollect a time where they've had the hiccups and tried everything under the sun make it stop.

In a study published in 2010, 16 adult males with various forms of cancer and suffering from persistent hiccups were treated with acupuncture. 13 of the 16 had complete remission of hiccups after acupuncture, and 8 of those after only one treatment.
