What matters is that every person deserves understanding, respect, and a chance to live free from judgment or stigma.

We stand beside people with unique abilities, helping them find confidence, connection, and recovery in their own way.

We believe change starts with kindness, education, and connection.

When we learn together, believe in each other’s strengths, and create safe and welcoming spaces, recovery becomes something to celebrate, not something to hide.

Everyone deserves to feel included, supported, and proud of their journey.

Let’s keep building communities where being sober is respected and belonging is for everyone.

Together, we can break the stigma.

Sober State’s Restorative Justice Program helps people with IDD to rebuild their lives after legal challenges by offering guidance, accountability, and care.

Our goal is to help participants stay alcohol and drug free through safe and supportive testing, court progress reports, and group sessions that teach life and coping skills.

This program is about progress, not punishment. We focus on understanding what each person needs to stay safe, make better choices, and move forward with confidence.

Recovery takes time, but no one has to do it alone.

Do you know anyone who might need our help? Reach out today.

Creative expression opens new ways to connect, focus, and grow.

We support people with IDD to explore art as part of their recovery journey; building confidence, patience, and pride in every piece they create.

Every project is more than art. It’s a reminder of what’s possible with care, support, and community.

Substance use can look different for everyone.

Some people with IDD experiment, some use socially, and others use out of habit.

When use continues despite risks or causes problems, that’s when support matters most.

At Sober State, we help people learn, heal, and build healthier ways to cope and connect.

Substances can affect the body and mind in different ways.
🔹 Uppers (Stimulants) increase alertness and energy.
🔹 Downers (Depressants) slow down brain activity and the body’s responses.
🔹 All-Arounders (Hallucinogens) change how we see, hear, and feel things.
🔹 Other (Inhalants) can cause quick, dangerous highs from fumes or gases.

Learning about how substances work helps people understand their effects, risks, and why misuse can be harmful especially for those with intellectual and developmental disability.

At Sober State, we help people with IDD make sense of this information in a safe, supportive space that encourages awareness, choice, and recovery.

People with disabilities often face more obstacles when it comes to alcohol and drug use. The truth is, the system isn’t always designed with them in mind.
That means the support they receive can feel out of reach, confusing, or not truly built for their needs.

We believe everyone deserves care that is accessible, inclusive, and real.

We’re here to break down the barriers and bring support and understanding to more communities.
