If there’s one number that predicts a woman’s fertility, which measure is it?
A. Age
B.AMH
C. FSH
D. Estradiol

Answer is…Age. But AMH can help understand the fertility window a patient has but measures quantity and not quality of the eggs.

Did you know there are three 3 conditions that can artificially lower your AMH level but does not really reflect a lower ovarian reserve? These three things are being on combined oral contraceptives, hypothalamic hypogonadism, and higher BMI. Interestingly, someone with a higher BMI may have a lower AMH, but this actually does not reflect a lower overian reserve nor their response to fertility medication.

I’m a little concerned that we’re withdrawing from WHO and cutting the NIH budget. There’s long term adverse impacts to reducing the health research infrastructure and not having influence on global health. I heard that all the NIH study sections have been halted, which means grant reviews are stalled.

This seems kind of analogous to LA cutting funds to the fire department but not realizing the impact till there’s a crisis.
