Join me next Wednesday, February 11. Lots to share about the Ayurvedic approach to detoxification. Detox is a popular word right now, but it's been central to Ayurvedic wisdom for thousands of year. Yes there is the more elaborate process of Panchakarma in Ayurveda. I'll talk about that in the class. But what I most appreciate is the simple, practical and rhythmic approach to detoxification that Ayurveda offers. Dive deeper with me on February 11.

In this free, online class, you'll learn the essentials of Ayurvedic detoxification. Our bodies have the wisdom to remove harmul toxins and waste. The challenge is that we can create roadblocks that make it harder for the body to do its job. Here are some topics we'll cover:

Does your life feel out of sync? Circadian (biological processes in a 24 hour cycle) healing is foundational for your health and well-being. Nature has a wisdom for the best practices for sleeping, eating, exercise, sunlight exposure. Humans have this crazy ability (curse) to shun nature's guidance. This class is designed to bring you back to your intuitive knowing so life doesn't feel so hard.

Join me on Saturday, January 17 from 10am-1:30pm, in-person in Eagle Rock/Los Angeles.

This is a collaborative life design class. In addition to learning the essentials of the best rhythm and routine for sleeping, eating, exercising, sunlight exposure, we'll also explore what's essential for your unique body/mind constitution. There are some essentials that are important for everyone and then there are the other aspects of daily routine that have to be designed to fit your uniqueness. We'll even get a mini-cooking class in to give you easy ideas on how to have nutritious, homemade food - one of the biggest challenges in creating harmonious circadian rhythms.

Note: A previous announcement went out about an 8-week program. That program had to be delayed because of scheduling conflicts, so I'm starting out 2026 with a half-day class instead.

December is one of my favorite months. If we slow down the frenzied pace, we can perceive the energy of uplifting spiritual upliftment. I like to take the first weeks of December before Christmas and winter solstice to pay special attention to my meditation and turning inward. It makes the outward celebration that comes later in the month so much sweeter.

I’m now offering ozone saunas that merge with the best practices of Ayurvedic wisdom and svedana (sauna/detoxification through perspiration). This offering combines ozone sauna with Ayurveda, using custom herbal oils that I’ve developed over the years that target specific pathogens/toxins. And now, just for August, I’ll be offering a discounted rate for this therapy.

Ozone therapy has shown tremendous success as a complementary practice to help the body heal from debilitating pathogens (viral, bacterial, fungal). There are many ways to administer ozone, but an ozone sauna is one of the most gentle and least invasive methods. When you combine the ozone with the Ayurvedic approach to massaging the body with oil before a sauna, the anti-pathogenic herbs prepared in the oil and the purification that comes from sweating, you get treatments that truly support your overall healing from chronic conditions.

Have you always wanted to learn how to create your own healing herbal remedies. On Saturday, August 23, learn about a few different powerful herbs for your digestion, nerves, skin and reproductive system. We'll explore the herbs and merge them with the healing power of ghee.

There are so many "detoxes" and "cleanses" out there and many are very good. (Panchakarma, FMD, various liver cleanses are all very powerful!) But in all this talk about "cleanses," don't forget building the foundation. The cleanses are added support and become even more effective when we fully embrace that daily rhythm that helps every organ of the body know its role.

The daily practices strengthen you, support the organs in your body to work in harmony with each other like an amazing band of musicians with different instruments. Then, when it comes time to do the more intensive cleanses, you're not starting from a place of crisis management. These are just a few ideas to help get you started.

If you are able to plan ahead before conceiving, there are steps you can take to support your health and vitality and then by extension create an even better environment for your child to grow.

There are a few categories to think about.

Purification - Your body feeds your child. If your body is filled with heavy metals, stealth pathogens, accumulated ama (toxic undigested waste that has accumulated in the body), it’s time to shed it, especially before conceiving. Ayurveda has a multitude of practices that help you move these depleting substances out of your body. Panchakarma is one of the most important tools in Ayurveda to move many of those substances out of your body.

Rejuvenation - There’s a term in Ayurveda called ojas. It’s a literal substance in the body, but also a word that represents overall vitality and strength. It’s so important for a pregnant woman to have strong ojas. By eating ojas building foods in a calm environment and engaging in other vitality building practices, your body builds up that life source that will help you feel stronger and nourish the baby.

Metabolism - If you’re having digestive symptoms such as chronic gas, bloating, chronic indigestion, heaviness after eating, working on this before pregnancy is ideal. The better your digestion, the better your capacity to break down food into nutrients that will feed the little one inside of you.

Circadian Living - This is really important. Many parents will tell you that when they got themselves and their babies on a schedule, life became a little easier. Creating a circadian life takes time and usually has to happen step by step. Start developing your circadian intelligence before pregnancy.

And ultimately, if you didn’t have a chance to prepare before pregnancy, no worries. Most of these things can be done during pregnancy. But if you know you want to get pregnant, why wait? Your body and your baby will be grateful.

It is so satisfying to eat a meal that has your own home grown herbs, vegetables and fruit. For me, it just allows me to connect with more gratitude for what I am eating. But if growing your own vegetables may be really daunting, I highly recommend growing amaranth greens. Some of you may be familiar with amaranth grain as a breakfast porridge. But amaranth greens are harder to purchase in a store. They are so easy to grow. We grow a lot of greens, but amaranth is close to the top of my list as a no-stress green. I just go to the backyard and pick them fresh.

There are so many benefits, so here are just a few:
- high-protein green
- high fiber so it will be very helpful for good elimination and supports healthy blood sugar levels
- contains good amounts of lysine which can help with calcium absorption supporting bone health
- high in vitamin C which helps maintain good collagen levels that helps maintain structure and elasticity in the skin

Join me for my July and August events. Yoga nidra on the first Saturdays (Inspired Soul Saturdays - online or in-person) continues and Saturday, August 23rd, I'll be leading a hands-on clas as part of my Kitchen Medicine series. You'll learn all about the medicinal uses of ghee and learn how to make your own ghee and herbal ghee. We'll also break bread together and enjoy a nourishing summer lunch.
