✨Are you suffering from migraines? Here is a new research that acupuncture is effective for migraines. ✨

Migraines are more than just headaches. They often come with nausea, light sensitivity, and sound sensitivity. Affects around 10% of the global population, with women being 3x more likely to experience them than men. While medication is commonly used to treat migraines, new research is suggesting a non-drug alternative: auricular acupuncture.

In a randomized, controlled study of 100 participants (ages 18-45), researchers explored the effects of auricular acupuncture on migraine pain intensity and depression.

🔑 Results:
The intervention group saw an approx. 16-point reduction in pain intensity, while the control group’s pain intensity increased by 3 points.
The intervention group’s depression scores dropped by 6+ points, while the control group showed a nearly 6-point reduction.

🔬 Conclusion: Auricular acupuncture may hold promise as a non-drug alternative for migraine relief. However, the researchers note, “The reduction in depression despite increased pain intensity in the control group is unclear; more studies are needed.”
