Last week, we kicked off the Family Strengthening Network's 29th cohort training! The training is for staff at all of LA County's , Healthy Families America, and Parents as Teachers National Center programs.

Thanks to all the participants for your time here -- and of course for all the time you spend supporting and strengthening pregnant women and families with little ones! Thanks also to our partners Work2Live Well, to All For Kids for the training space, and to First 5 LA for their partnership and funding!

The Family Strengthening Oversight Entity (LA Best Babies Network, First 5 LA and Work2Live Well came together last week for our quarterly retreat. We mixed in a little fun, but the retreat was focused on the serious business of strengthening collaboration, aligning priorities, and finding ways to improve how we support your work. We are beyond grateful for Lollaland’s incredibly generous donation of nearly 6,000 mealtime essentials, including tableware and bibs! We were happy to be able to distribute these donations to 7 out of 9 of our Welcome Baby program partners.

Myra, a second-time mom, received an important boost of support through the Welcome Baby program. Her Parent Coach noticed her baby wasn’t moving his right arm as much as expected. Thanks to this early observation, Welcome Baby helped connect the family with a local Regional Center, where her baby was able to receive therapy.
