Come be part of an amazing rally/press conference, commemorating World Human Rights Day in front of the Chinese Embassy 443 Shatto Place, LA, CA 90020 form 2:30 - 3:30 pm Tomorrow Tuesday, 12-10-13.
We cordially invite you to give a speech at a rally scheduled for World Human Rights Day, December 10, 2013, in front of the Consulate General of The People's Republic of China in Los Angeles from 2:3 0pm to 3:30 pm. A the rally, Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH) will announce that 1.5 million people from more than 50 countries call upon the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to press China for an immediate end to forced organ harvesting from live Falun Gong practitioners. If you cannot attend, we hope you will send a letter of support or a media statement.
As you may know, Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a traditional body, mind, and spiritual practice. It consists of five sets of gentle, meditative exercises and a moral philosophy centered on the principle of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance. Since its first introduction in 1992, it has brought tens of millions of people improved health, a more positive outlook on life, inner peace, and improved moral character. Unfortunately, on July 20, 1999, after Falun Gong gained more members than the Communist Party, the Party launched a campaign to eradicate it. Although the persecution has gone underground, The Falun Dafa Information Center has been able to verify details of 3,733 deaths and over 63,000 cases of torture. Millions have been detained or sent to forced labor camps.
More shockingly, ample evidence exists showing that a large number of Falun Gong practitioners in China have suffered from forced organ harvesting (http://stoporganharvesting.org). In U.S. Department of State Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 2011 (http://www.state.gov/j/drl/rls/hrrpt/2011/), it reads, “Overseas and domestic media and advocacy groups continued to report instances of organ harvesting, particularly from Falun Gong practitioners and Uighurs.”
In the past five months leading to Human Rights Day, spearheaded by DAFOH, a nonprofit organization founded by medical doctors from all over the world to stop unethical and illegal organ harvesting, volunteers from over 50 countries around the world have collected 1.5 million petition signatures.
