✨ A Full-Circle Moment 20 Years in the Making ✨
At CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, we recently had the honor of witnessing something truly extraordinary, a reunion between Dr. Ramen H. Chamit and his very first patient.
Twenty years ago, a young mother walked through our doors facing an unimaginable diagnosis: a severe case of Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), a life-threatening condition with over a 95% chance of losing one or both babies without intervention. At the time, this specialized, life-saving procedure was not widely available, especially in Southern California.
But Dr. Chamit chose action over hesitation. He fought through barriers, pushed past red tape, and led a team determined to do what was right: give two babies a chance at life.
Today, those babies are Daniel and Diego, now thriving young men, standing side by side with the physician who helped save their lives before they were even born. 💙🧡
This reunion is more than a milestone. It is a testament to courage:
• A mother who trusted and believed against all odds
• A physician who refused to give up
• A care team driven by purpose and compassion
From one groundbreaking surgery to now thousands performed, this moment reminds us why we do what we do.
To the twins and their incredible family, thank you for allowing us to be part of your story.
To Dr. Chamit, thank you for your unwavering dedication and for changing lives every single day.
Here’s to 20 years of life, resilience, and hope. 💫
