No one should have to choose between feeding their family and paying for life-saving medication. That’s why AHF has been advocating for affordable drug prices for almost 40 years. We’ve challenged Big Pharma, called out corporate greed, taken major drug companies to court, and marched in the streets to demand justice for our clients. And we aren’t stopping anytime soon.

Everyone should have access to life-saving medications. Like and share this post if you agree.

In this episode of Global Public Healthcare Revolution, released in honor of International Transgender Day of Visibility on March 31st 🏳️‍⚧️, Kemi Gbadamosi sits down with Queen Victoria Ortega, the fearless leader of Flux and Chief Visionary Officer of the Connie Norman Trans Empowerment Center. From Boyle Heights to Mexico City, Queen Victoria shares her journey as a trans Latina activist and how investing in trans leadership creates real, transformative change for communities. They discuss the power of focusing on the most underserved, breaking down barriers in public health, and dismantling the savior complex that often dominates aid and intervention programs. Queen Victoria emphasizes holistic health, showing how financial literacy, housing, education, and a sense of belonging are all essential to thriving communities. Whether you work in public health, activism, or simply care about equity, this conversation is full of insight, inspiration, and practical guidance for driving change where it matters most.

An update on Florida’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program.

After weeks of advocacy, rallies, and legal challenges, the Florida Senate has voted to restore HIV medication access for more than 10,000 people through emergency funding.

This happened because people spoke up.
Patients shared their stories.
Providers and advocates refused to stay silent.

But this is not a permanent fix.

Premium insurance assistance is still missing.
Biktarvy is still off the formulary.
And the funding only lasts through June 30.

The fight for full coverage isn’t over.

Today is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.

Women have been some of the most powerful voices in the fight against HIV. From artists and advocates to community leaders, they have used their platforms to challenge stigma, raise awareness, and push the world to do better.

Today we’re highlighting a few of those voices and the words that continue to inspire action, compassion, and change.

founded the DIVA Foundation in 1990 to combat HIV/AIDS, motivated by friends lost during her time in Dreamgirls. Her signature event, "DIVAS Simply Singing!," is the longest-running HIV/AIDS benefit concert in the U.S.

founded the SING Campaign in 2007, focusing on advocacy, education, and supporting women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, particularly in South Africa.

co-founded Keep a Child Alive, supporting children and families affected by HIV/AIDS, and helped turn the annual Black Ball into a major HIV/AIDS fundraiser.

The fight against HIV has always been driven by people who refuse to stay silent.

Florida just used an emergency rule to cut thousands of people off their HIV medications.

No hurricane. No outbreak. No warning.

16,000 lives thrown into uncertainty.

Medication decisions should be made by doctors, not rushed policy changes.

AHF is taking legal action and fighting to protect every patient’s right to stay on lifesaving treatment.

Because no one should lose healthcare overnight.
