Día De Los Mu***os 2025


I’m really happy to have been able to co-creating a living altar, for our ancestors, with my friend and fellow medicine woman .jacques .
She had the dreamt vision for the tree as a connection to earth and ancestors and I still has a desire to work with the blacks beans once again.

Every time I work with black beans I am surprised at how emotional I get.
They represent the resiliency of my Indigenous ancestors of the Mundo Maya. How many times have they tried to kill us and erase us? And yet we are still here. ❤️‍🔥

The black beans have always been there to nourish us, fortify us, and to make our spirit ever lasting.
A huge gratitude to our ancestors who have persevered against so many hardships, who are part of the equation that allows us to be here now, that are saying to us - despite it all we will not die.

Thank you .jacques for collaborating with me and for the opportunity to spend time with your family. That was a sweet gift to have had the help of your parents the first day and the rest of your tribe after 🥹
I had to tell your dad that we’ve been friends since the Yucatán and when I had a nightmare that one time, and I said can I sleep with you 😭, lol it sealed the deal for our friendship.

Thank God for all the beautiful experiences we have been given to forge the strong bonds with fellow medicine sisters. We need these bonds more than ever. 🙏🏼

I’m grateful for and the legacy of Gloria Molina for lifting up our Indigenous ancestry and the practice of honoring our ancestors.

It is a blessing to have people and organizations respect and honor the altares completely. It was very necessary for me to experience this.

If we recognize completely that all people come from the womb, that is is the earth that nourishes us, that the health of the womb is the health of the people, that the health of the earth is the health of the people, that we are here for a moment in time, and we are meant to steward this earth and the future of our generations - what then would change?
Make a decision and change the course of history.
That’s how easy it is.

to our yard sale at West Gardena Blvd and Denker Ave. All $$$$ goes to setup of our ghost vendor system and ingredients for our first group of vendors. Come by toany time between
9 - 5 to find a deal and meet organizers from HILL, South Bay For All, ISBLA, Gardena Guardians, Good Neighbors United, and other orgs. It’s scary out there, South Bay - but it’s less scary when we stand together.










Details on the project:
With $9.7K in rental aid disbursed, we’re taking on a new project: fundraising for a vendor food ordering system! You’ll pick from the menu, vendors will make food safely at home, and volunteers will deliver finished orders to pickup sites. All money raised from our yard sale will go to startup costs for the website and ingredients/packaging for our first batch of vendors. Come out, say hey, and help build sustainable ways to keep our neighbors housed!

The change has already begun.
The more they hurt the people around us - the more we come together.
The change is coming. The change is here.
In the midst of all the heartbreak and rage we still continue to show up for each other.
We were not put on this earth the watch injustice and stand idly by.
The political policies that have been enacted around us require human suffering.
We say no more.
Here in all of Los Angeles - our own ability to make money depends on the labor of immigrants who work longer and for less.
Immigrants farm our food, cook our food, build our homes, clean our homes, raise people’s children, and still have second class status.
And yet - everyone in this country has due process of the law. Depending on the issue - everyone in this country has a right to the process of the law that is due to them.
Being undocumented is not a criminal offense. It is a civil offense. What is happening is unlawful.

Everyday brings more urgency.
You can make the difference.

In the face of this injustice give what you can 🙏🏼

Support the people that have built your home, cleaned your schools and offices, and that farm the food on your table.

Nobody’s success, no nation’s success, should come at the cost of human suffering.

Help our immigrant neighbors keep their homes.

I got sick these past coulple weeks. The air quality triggered a whole host of things.
Still in the game here.
Seriously thank you to everyone sharing on their feeds not just their stories letting your followers know where you stand.
Yes the situation is dire.
Yes there are n@zis in the government (and always have been).
Yes they are working on a international slave/prison trade.
Yes people are brainwashed to the madness happening.
Yes femicide is rising.
Yes to all of it.
But also yes we have not yet understood our true power, yes we have not yet accessed all the strength we have available to us, and yes - WE HAVE NEVER BEEN DEFEATED.
Those of us who believe in a free and just world are still exist.
Please keep helping, keep caring.
There is so much help we need.
I don’t talk about my health for you to have pity, because even on my death bed I’ll still kick a mthrfckr’s ass.
I tell you this to recognize those of us who are standing up against injustice and to help those most vulnerable and in need - we are vulnerable, just like you, we all need each other.

Rise up
Join or start a mutual aid.
Break up with your racist partner.
Give money to people in need.
Volunteer.
Stop planning your vacation and start planning the ending of imperial domination.

Your jokes will be funnier, your love will be sweeter, you will be sexier.

Trust you will not be abandoned.

There’s a whole lot of good work to do.

Folks this is a handful of sites that are doing direct distribution to families in need.
The need is great but I know we can do it.
Because we have been doing.

They are running out of supplies and a cold/flu virus has impacted some sites and need help with cough/cold essentials.
Water, toilet paper, and toiletries are ongoing needs as they are in every household. These sites are helping folks whose water is toxic, whose homes and jobs have been lost, and who are doing ongoing clean up efforts.

All of the sites are continuing to take donations daily and as listed.
Please understand that many neighborhoods and residence do not have city support. FEMA aid will be a lengthy process and will be a one time check of around $770 for some people.

We cannot foresee how the political climate will affect LA county.
From infrastructure, to affordable housing, to those affected by the fires, to the current poor, to our immigrant community and undocumented neighbors our future can and will be determined by us and by our unity.

This is part of our human greatness.
You’ve been waiting for this moment.
Step up.
And we will see you out there.

LA/Tongva land is showing to everyone that community can come together and take care of each other.
No one in LA needs to go hungry.
We can do this.
Right now the situation in Altadena is dire and heartbreaking.
The water is toxic and the city is not sending water.
The following slide lists the ongoing needs of the resident, including videos of the site.
This site is resident run.
All who are helping are supporting residents while the national guard watches.
The folks and the kids at the site are coming down with the cold/flu that has been going around and need cough and cold medicine as well.
Folks dealing with long standing health issues are having difficulty getting treatment.

Not for sympathy but for emphasis, I had to go to er for nebulizer treatments Friday night. And ran into a volunteer I had met earlier that day.
I had worn and n95 mask all day while I was in West Adams helping with donation drop offs and distribution.
The respiratory tech who attended me in West LA wore an N95 and a surgical masks over it and emphasized how bad the air was and how people were not understanding the long term impacts of the air.
When in LA I wear a surgical masks over my N95.
PLEASE - if you are taking in donations and have masks - hand out a box a masks to your volunteers and to the families coming to drop off donations.
If you are in need of masks - contact your local site taking in donations and asks for masks. Take a box of masks per person.

Please pressure LA city and Pasadena city and all cities affected to secure air purifiers for all resident household.
