LAKE

This piece conjures the ghost of MacArthur Lake before Wilshire Boulevard cut through its center in 1934. Inspired by the sensibility of found-artist John Woods, visitors are invited to “fish” for keys—small relics of what the lake once held and what it might remember.

Ingredients: Mylar + tablecloths, keys, bamboo fishing poles, string, fishing lures

“Fished” keys can be exchanged for a prize

Welcome to our community acupuncture pop-ups with the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles, where you can receive a free or donation-based acupuncture treatment inside the gallery space.

As you move through the exhibition, you’ll arrive at our clinic area: an imaginative rendering of MacArthur Park’s topographical history.

Your appointment begins with a brief intake and pulse reading, where Dr. Kim assesses your body and needs and selects a few targeted points for treatment.

If needles make you nervous, don’t worry, we also offer acupressure, a needle-free option.

You’ll rest in the space for about fifteen to twenty minutes before the needles are gently removed.

You’re welcome to linger after your treatment to sit, reflect, and continue experiencing the exhibition.

Here’s what one of our patients shared:
“I feel very serene and more in my body. I’m leaving contemplating the invisible, yet palpable, currents of energy that move through people and places all the time.”

Hajo was at the retreat yesterday! 💛💛💛 We treated over 10 happy patients (many of whom this was their first time receiving acupuncture). It was such an honor and joy to celebrate in the beautiful and connect with the participants and other vendors. Thank you and the other organizers for all the great work you do for our community.

Hajo was so happy to host and the Koreatown Storytelling Program (KSP) for an acupressure lecture and demonstration. Dr. Kim shared the principles behind acupressure and his favorite points for health and wellness. Touch is healing!

KSP participants will be turning this into a zine focused on recovery. Stay tuned :)
