But tearing isn’t just about baby size or whether it’s your first birth. It’s influenced by tension, tissue adaptability, breath coordination, positioning, and how your body responds in the moment.

Preparation isn’t about forcing stretch. It’s about improving awareness, reducing unnecessary tension, and supporting your pelvic floor’s ability to lengthen when it needs to.

“Working with Caitlin has been a gamechanger for my second prenatal and postpartum experience. When I had my first child, my SPD lasted well over a year into postpartum, even with traditional physical therapy. I was so happy to find Caitlin and Studio Duyan very early into my second pregnancy and began working with Caitlin to help my SPD right away.

Caitlin’s holistic approach and personalized care has completely changed my prenatal and postpartum experience this time around. I experienced less pain throughout my pregnancy, had a smoother delivery and my SPD has completely disappeared postpartum.

Caitlin not only helped me work with my body and the SPD I was experiencing, but also helped me prep for labor and kept me exercising with less pain, something I was unable to do with my first pregnancy.

With my first child, I did PT well over a year postpartum to help with my SPD and this time, I needed only a few postpartum visits to work out my SPD and Caitlin also took the time to teach me how to ease back into exercise in a way that was effective but would assist my postpartum body and wouldn’t lead to further injury.

Thank you, Caitlin! I’ll still be popping in for private postpartum pilates sessions from time to time because I miss you and your beautiful space.”

“I’m so glad to have found Caitlin and Studio Duyan. My first visit was during my third trimester. I came to Caitlin pregnant with my second child and knew I was going to have a repeat C-section. Caitlin gave me great guidance to prep my body for surgery and I returned to her postpartum for help with my diastasis and doming. Because of her, I’ve had a smooth and intentional recovery. My body always felt better after our sessions. Ultimately, I felt super safe and comfortable going back to exercising and more confident in my daily movements with my baby and my 5-year-old.
