đź“•BOOK RELEASE EVENT
Thursday, 2/19 @ 7:30pm

Join us for an intimate evening conversation celebrating Sun Shining on Morning Snow, a powerful memoir by author, speaker and leadership coach Ingrid Hu Dahl.

Hosted at Light on Lotus, this special book event features a fireside chat led by Mary Moses, host of the Tradition Breakers podcast, following their recorded episode. Together, Ingrid and Mary will explore themes of identity, growing up mixed Asian American, coming out, grief after the loss of Ingrid’s mother, and what it means to live boldly—especially when your story doesn’t fit neatly into inherited traditions.

The evening will be opened by Kate Duyn, founder of Light on Lotus and a longtime friend of Ingrid’s, who will share a brief reflection on how they met—on an Alaska adventure with a group of Brooklyn-based q***r women creating an art film.

This conversation builds on Ingrid and Mary’s recent Tradition Breakers podcast episode and extends it into a live, embodied gathering rooted in honesty, reflection, and connection.

Books will be available for purchase and signing following the conversation.

SANSKRIT STUDIES
This Friday 2/6, 6-8pm in-person or online with 🕉️

Sanskrit is the language in which ancient yogic texts were written and yoga is rooted in. This workshop offers an opportunity to engage with Sanskrit more consciously and respectfully, as a living foundation of yoga’s wisdom tradition. By understanding the cultural significance of Sanskrit, practitioners and teachers alike can deepen their relationship to yoga beyond the physical practice, honoring its roots while integrating it thoughtfully into modern spaces.

In this workshop, we will cover:
- Overview of Sanskrit as origin of yoga
- Common Sanskrit alphabets, terminiology across Asana names, and mantras
- Meaningful Sanskrit terminology and mantras to honor spiritual roots of yoga
- Introduction to cultural appropriation for preserving sacredness and authenticity of Sanskrit in yoga
- How cultural misappropriations happen and how to consciously avoid them or handle them differently
- Integrating cultural appreciation and authenticity of Sanskrit in your practice
- Reflection / Q&A

Please bring your laptop with you if you come in-person!

Register through the events page on our website, $40 đź’«

🌸 As of February 1st, a few schedule shifts have gone into effect: please note that our weekly 6:15pm classes now start at 6pm instead!

One of the things that sets us apart from other studios in the area is that we tend to address more than just the asana practice (the other 7 limbs). It's important to us that we lean into the roots of yoga while staying grounded in authenticity, with a playful and warm spirit!

"Real Yoga for Real People", because we want you to know that you can practice with us without wearing a matching ALO set, you don't have to be an influencer, and it's not going to be a gimmicky or trendy. The pure practice is enough on its own without weights, bands, infrared lights, rooms heated to 100 degrees, goats or cold plunges. Just real yoga.

This Friday, 1/30 @ 12:30pm!
Join .constable for a donation-based yoga class created as a space to move, breathe, and come together in community.

In a time of deep unrest and ongoing immigration enforcement actions in Minneapolis, this practice is an opportunity to ground the nervous system, reconnect to the heart, and remember our shared humanity.

All proceeds will be donated to support the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund, which provides rapid, community-informed support to immigrant and refugee families affected by the ongoing ICE enforcement actions in Minneapolis — including urgent basic needs, legal services, and rights education — by directing resources quickly to trusted grassroots response efforts.

Suggested donation: $20.

Through intentional movement, conscious breath, and collective presence, we’ll create a container for healing that extends far beyond the mat. All levels are welcome — come as you are and practice in solidarity.

Creative Teaching Immersion — A Practice in Embodied Teaching

Ignite Your Practice. Transform Your Teaching.

“Nothing happens until something moves.” — Einstein

Yogis, it’s time to move.

Step into the deepest, most authentic part of yourself — into the body, the breath, the living pulse of your practice. Through Dana’s inspired teaching and fearless guided experiences, you’ll uncover your true voice and awaken the inner wisdom ready to be set free.

Using yoga’s timeless techniques, we create art with the body — feeling our way into innovative sequences, cultivating courage and confidence, and breaking through to the other side of what you thought was possible.

Rolling out your mat and committing to your daily practice — your Sadhana — is where the magic begins. You’re invited to explore, experiment, and share what you discover through sensation, movement, sound, and reflection.

Your Sadhana becomes a sacred laboratory: a place to listen deeply to your body, learn boldly from experience, and create without limits. With steady discipline comes the freedom you’ve been seeking. You must feel the practice in your body, because you can only teach what you know to be true. Breathe into the beauty of each shape. Let the body lead. Stay curious. Have fun. This is the heart of embodied practice.

Friends, roll out your mat and let the sparks fly.

Are you already teaching or have you completed your 200Hr training but want to go deeper into the art of sequencing your classes intelligently and creatively? You are invited to join in on this specific module of our 200Hr Teacher Training with Kate Duyn (founder of LOL & lead 200Hr trainer since 2011). A special 2 hour evening practice dedicated to down regulating and restoring yourself. We'll practice ancient pranayama techniques both lying down and seated. These tools, when used either with or without movement, allow you to transform your life. We'll close out our time together with an extended savasana with yoga nidra. Nidra allows deeper rest that can feel as refreshing as sleep when done consistently, and the benefits of this form of deep rest have also been scientifically validated.
