Her Story
Who she is… “Swan” (Lindsey McEvoy, HAD) is the owner/founder of the mobile business, The Art of Hearing, LLC, based out of Los Angeles, California. Swan was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She has earned a Doctorate degree in Audiology (hearing science) from Pacific University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services with a minor in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. She has her California Hearing Aid Dispenser license and plans to soon obtain full “audiologist” licensure. She enjoys serving people, photography, science, music and yoga. What she does… Swan (Lindsey) became active with The Art of Hearing, LLC in 2017. She works to raise awareness on a global level to address the issue of increased hearing loss across ages and cultures. She uses her expertise to provide cutting edge education and practical solutions such as education, custom filtered hearing protection, ear impressions and in ear monitors. The target populations for The Art of Hearing are people in any loud environment, specifically music concerts, military forces, and industrial workers. Why she does it… Listening to music was healing for Swan at a time when she desperately needed hope. It still enlivens her spirit on a regular basis. It made sense to her to give back to musicians, an underserved population when it comes to hearing healthcare. She stayed diligent and focused throughout graduate school because she saw the end goal in sight. Now she lives her dream as a reality and has stepped up to make a radical change in how the world views and utilizes hearing healthcare today.
