I’m doing a series of classes on meditating with the chakras. Last night we worked on the root chakra and we’ll continue with the sacral chakra next week. Chakras have become popular in mainstream spirituality but often totally disconnected from the classical techniques. In each class, I teach the traditional breathing & meditation techniques for one of the 7 chakras. The divine masculine-feminine dichotomy in spirituality doesn’t resonate with everyone. I prefer the archetypes of hunter and gatherer. The hunter is the assertive mode of strength, logic, and pursuing what we want to catch, and the gatherer is the holistic mode of creativity, intuition, and nurturing what we want to grow. By not gendering them, we can better relate to both modes of action.
