The people who arrive at the door of our criminal justice system rarely come without wounds. Until we recognize the profound role generational trauma plays in the cycle of violence — the truth that hurt people hurt people — we will continue to recycle the same interchangeable groups of those who cause harm and those who have been harmed.

And just as we ask the system to evolve, we have to hold ourselves to that same standard. Organizations led by people with lived experience must operate with understanding, humility, and compassion. Healing is the work. And healed people heal people.

Yesterday’s 2nd Annual Turkey Bowl with ARC, RAMP, and Amity was an absolute success! 🦃🎉

Our youth showed up with energy, teamwork, and big smiles, turning the day into a true celebration of community and connection.

Events like this remind us what’s possible when we come together — laughter, friendly competition, and genuine support for one another. 💪🏽🏈

Huge shoutout to everyone who participated, planned, and cheered from the sidelines.

This is what community looks like. This is what our youth deserve. 🙌🏽✨

From day one of our Credible Messenger program, Adrian and Raymon have been a part of our journey. Here are photos of them returning to BJN in 2022 as free young men and now in 2025 as young adults.

At CMC, our class is beautifully facilitated by Sister Greta, whose compassion and wisdom guide meaningful dialogue and healing.

Each visit reminds us of the power of transformation, accountability, and hope within our prison communities.
